Will pull out a new beer to enjoy this evening with the NBW thread. Listing two three straight from this in the 3 o'clock overnight set on WDCB.

Note Chopin @TheIPAHunter . I grew up a block and four houses away from Chopin Park in our heavily Polish neighborhood back in the day!

Crosstown Brewing Forager Honey Rye Ale



Light golden color with small white cap.

Aroma of sweet malt and dry rye bread.

Taste is more a sensation of sweetness rather than actual sweetness. There is a full richness to the malt flavor with a rye edge that seems both dry and spicy yet the overall effect is sweet. Brewer's website doesn't disclose any percentages of Rye or honey but both flavors are present. Hops play a small role here but the emphasis here is on honey and grain.

Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.

This is an interesting beer. It looks good, tastes good and provides something a bit different in the sea of IPAs that populate our retail shelves.

Good morning/day BAs! Making some room in my chillers today for new hauls…first up - Revolution’s Deth’s Tar (2023) BBA Imperial Stout:



Canned 1/4/23. Poured at 57°. Bourbon nose, boozy exhale. Bourbon and chocolate taste. Burn on tip of tongue from 14.8%. One of my favorite BBA impy stouts and drinking fine 15 months out.

Lots of domestic chores to do today. I’ll likely stay put and ease into the day. Cheers and have a fantabulos Friday y’all!

Bottled 2/8/24. Poured at 54°. Coffee, bourbon and chocolate. Not as boozy as the Deth’s Tar but far more affordable and available.

Slowly working through home chores…Sunny low 80s already this morning…forecast is an early post lunch nap Cheers y’all!

Fuji Kanko Kaihatsu - Fujizakura Heights Weizen

Enjoying this limited release wheat in its dedicated glass. It must be noted that apparently the place I'm drinking at is only allowed to sell 10 bottles a day of this beer. Not sure why. Not a huge Weizen guy but this one was very nice.

 

Back to an old favourite, from a 15pack.
