Wow, those prices are (were?) a steal!

 

Pipeworks NvU and Noon Whistle's Prism series were my go-to's about 5-6 years ago and I'm pretty sure they were never more than $12-13/4pk. I don't remember drinking too much Half Acre at the time, but maybe that's cause they were always more pricey than others. Now their hazies are like $20+/4pk while HB sells for $16-17.

 

NvU is still in the $13-14 range. It’s a favorite and I buy it regularly.

To the original question, for awhile now Half Acre seasonal 4-packs that see distro have been in that $16 range. I think it has less to do with cost of ingredients (though I’m sure it doesn’t hurt) and more about setting it apart from their core lineup as something special. Their taproom-only releases being even higher, maybe for similar reasons and to offset less efficient production.

You can pick up Daisy Cutter for around $13(?) at Binny's which isn't a bad deal.

 

Speaking of Daisy Cutter, appears this is the 15th year anniversary. Saw a couple of new keg labels for Daisy Cutter 15 and Daisy Cutter Select. Hope they do anniversary mix packs again.

 

HA shared some additional details on the forthcoming Daisy Cutter anniversary variants. Both will see limited distribution which is great news imo. I presume the mentioned April 22 date is a typo. June 15 is the anniversary party at the brewery as well.

 

Binny's shows both of these in stock in a few locations.

EDIT: I take that back, Fifteen is in stock, not Select, which seems strange but could be bad inventory management.

 

Binny's website is a lie. Went to the Portage Park location and it is not yet delivered.

 

The same for Evergreen Park.

 

It’s odd that it doesn’t show on the brewpub menu or Instagram page…

 

They sent a revised email. It was a typo. May 22nd is the correct date.

Looks like Smoking Gull is back - this is far and away my favorite Halfe Acre beer and I really with it was brewed more than once a year.

 

When is the Sierra Nevada collabo hitting distro

 

Open Bottle had preorders for it. They said it would be available the first week of June, I believe.

 

Bitter Pops got them yesterday, someone else got them today but I can't remember who (saw somewhere on social media).

 

Likely hitting stores this week. Deliveries are probably a day behind due to the holiday. In my experience the inventory on the Binny's app is rarely accurate.
