To all those that quoted my posts, thanks for all the comments. I could not respond to most because I have an old phone, and when it is out at a music festival for 9+ hours the battery runs out. I have taken some suggestions offered by BAs, such as turn the phone to airplane mode, but even then, the battery still runs out. Carrying an extra battery pack, or whatever they are called is extra unneeded weight, I know they are tiny but every ounce counts (my wife wanted to lend me hers, but I told her to get off my lawn! ). So, I’ll just catch up with some quotes.

@Shanex - Yea, we are very lucky to be able to drink out in public here in New Orleans! (I don’t abuse it, just have one or two beers in the exclusive BA park bench, and more importantly, I don’t do this anywhere else in the World).

@russpowell - The headliners we’re Chris Stapleton, Vampire Weekend and Fantasia. I did not recognized any names at the bigger stages, so I stuck to Jazz, Treme Brass Band, Jason Marsalis, Victor Campbell, Charles Lloyd with Gerard Clayton, Larry Grenadier and Marcus Gilmore, and Nicholas Payton & The Nth Power. Today it’s Heart (Barracuda) and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band. Next weekend is when all the heavy hitters show up, The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, and Neil Young and Crazy Horse, and George Thorough & The Destroyers on the rock side, and Terence Blanchard, George Porter, Irma Thomas and Trombone Shorty on the Jazz side (just to name a few).

@Resistance88 - I am just trying to follow in your footsteps (but a dozen of NOLAs finest were eyeballing me, so I kept it respectful!)

@ATL6245 - Yes, it was the start of a good beer day, which kind of got a little out of hand! (no hangover, so it’s all good! )

ps-My better half is showing up tomorrow, so, despite my get off my lawn suggestions, she is going to keep me on a short leash, and so, while the cat is away the mouse shall play!

Good day BAs! Looks like I may FINALLY be learning how to use my updated computer after the CLEANING (Beer spilled onto the mother board) and yet another update to MS (more files scattered to the dark wind between the stars). Oh how I miss the good old days of DOS!

Like regular Ommegang Three Philosophers, it's not especially good - sticky sweet alcohol delivery system. I won't be drinking another until they come out with a BBA version that actually makes it to my local distributor. Rating 3.5, rDev -12.7%.

 

Far Yeast (Offtrail) - Kriek In The Barrel

 

Urban South Brewing Throwback Vibes IPA



Golden color with good white cap and lacing.

Aroma of sweet malt and noticably green, pleasantly citrus hops.

Taste is clean, refreshing and hop forward in a tasty way. Their is a solid malt base but hops are the primary flavoring agent here. The hop blend is skillful enough I don't get high points like lemon or grapefruit, rather a tasty mix of citrus elements that even out in a rounded whole.

Thanks! It has been enjoyable to listen to performers that are new to me (older) and new and up and coming performers. New Orleans is the Music Capital of the Universe! Cheers!
