Black IPA by Grasmere Brewery at the Brewery.

Terrible beer, nothing going on at all. Thin and tasteless. It was black I suppose!

 

Crosstown Brewing Traffic IPA



Clear golden color with good white cap and lacing which tracts all the way down the glass.

Aroma of good malt with piney, citrusy hops.

Taste presents a substantial malt body up front toting fresh hops on it's back. The hops have a bit of a piney kick but are mostly citrus and fruit. I get some elements of grapefruit, both pulp and zest, also ripe fruits such as mango and pineapple. Fairly complex and well blended flavors.

Full body with balancing carbonation.

This is my idea of an IPA, full bodied and substantially hopped.

 

Much more like it. Takanaki by Hawkshead Brewery. 6.5% NZ hopped Pale. In The Inn at Grasmere.

Destihl Brewery Dill Pickle Sour Beer.



This is pretty tasty if you like dill pickles. Similar to one of my home brews I call "It's A Dilly".

I'd never even heard of the brewery before. We're up here on holiday for a few days and came across the brewery. The wife had a beer described has a DIPA, it was 4.1% https://untp.beer/d9MyO

I've had AF beers miles better than the 2 we tried. I don't like shitting on breweries, especially independent ones, but I won't be trying anything from these again.
