    Hello Friday Family!

    The weekend has landed here in Oz and shenanigans have begun; beers are being drained, maidens ravaged, and adventures launched. Well, for the young go-getters maybe. Old boring buggers like me are home drinking solo.

    To make things worse for boring old buggers like me, the beer I'm drinking is truly awful. It's a low-carb, mailed-in effort from a notoriously mailed-in macro drinks operation called Pinnacle Drinks. If there's a beer hell, these guys are there turning slowly on the spit.

    But if there's an "I wasted time drawing pictures on the whiteboard at the office instead of working hell," then I'll be the one slowly basting. But in the spirit of @Shanex, I thought I'd post it here. It's a version of my avatar taken at a slightly different angle, showcasing the great Gary Ablett standing on some bloke's head 35-odd years ago. Be kind; whiteboards aren't the easiest canvas, and proportion isn't my strong point!

    No matter how bad this beer was, you made it look good and inviting. It must be the Oz light that makes things look good.

    Light golden color with lasting white cap.

    A rather gentle aroma mildly suggestive of ripe peach.

    Taste of sweet grain on entry, rather light, closely followed by floral hops. The combined effect of the two give off an airy, almost Springtime feel to this uncomplicated beer.

    Good day BAs! Thanks to @AzfromOz for the grand start to today's thread - your angst makes me want to try this to share the pain, but that disclaimer "Premium low carb lager" sounds like a rattlesnake rattle to me.

    Lucky me! Today's New breakfast Beer is (for once) a delicious reimagining of an old fav:

    Final Impression and summation: 4.25 Interesting take on the Maibock style. The wood chips dominate the flavor, with the standard Maibock flavors a close second. Dead Guy was always a favorite rarely seen in this neck of the woods – making it woodier only improves.

    Totally agree, Sideward and Rock Pit Brewing are "must stops" when we're in the area. If I recall correctly there is a killer Italian deli in front of Sideward......enjoy!!!
