Final Impression and summation: 4 Refreshing break beer – not something I’d drink all the time but good as a switch from my primary diet of stouts and IPAs.

in a very rare moment of freedom from a work life that is literally overwhelming me, I put the pearl that accompanied me throughout yesterday evening:

Birrificio Italiano (Lurago Marinone, ITA) - TIPOPILS - Italian Pils (5,2%)

You know her!
It's the most drunk Italian craft beer in the world.
Produced with Pils and Caramunich malts and with nioìbile hops of German origin such as Hallertauer Magnum, Hallertauer Saaz and Hallertau Hersbrucker. then during fermentation the creative passage conceived by Agostino Arioli takes place, i.e. the dry hopping of only Saaz hops.
When exported to the USA, they do the dry hopping upon arrival of the tanks.
Always a pleasure to find it on the tap list at the pub, because it's not easy to find.
It is a light, golden and transparent Pils, topped with a soft cap of foam, as per tradition.
the herbaceous scent mixes with those of bread and cereals.
To my taste, Quetsa Pils has perfect carbonation and an underlying lightness that allows the flavors to emerge clearly.
Extremely drinkable, typical hints of a pils (bread crust, light honeyed hint), with a finish that makes you lick your lips with that evident herbaceous and at the same time absolutely in balance with the rest, brought by the dry hopping of Saaz which closes the drunk with a dry but tasty bitterness (herbaceous, in fact).
I think it's just me who doesn't like her so much, given that all those beers called "Italian Pils" and all those that don't carry this wording but dry hopping their Pils draw inspiration from her.

Crosstown Brewing Siren Blonde Ale



Light gold color with small white cap.

Mild aroma of bready malt and slightly spicy hops.

Taste on entry is mild malt and somewhat firm, spicy hops. The hop level is listed at 28 IBU and it shows, clearly outreaching the malt. There is a bit of fruitiness by mid palate yet the whole remains dry.

 

Starting off with one of @DoctorZombies favorites. Founders Breakfast Stout. Delectable.

No golf today, three of my foursome are laid up. One had back surgery, one had his gallbladder taken out, and one has hip pain and cannot swing. The joys of getting older!

Pig Minds Hoppin' Javelina, a hoppy Mexican Lager. Added to the DB this morning. I was a little surprised that Mexican Lager wasn't listed as a style. Added a lime slice, it helped.
