Will be driving up from PA. Where else should we look into?

    Thanks!

Which location are you going to, Charlton? Where are you staying and how long will you be in the area?

BT's Smokehouse in Sturbridge for BBQ (will be busy, esp on Saturday). Armsby Abbey in Worcester for Hill Farmstead without having to go to Hill Farmstead. Regularly amazing taplist, in general, and excellent food.

Might want to stop by Yankee Spirits in Sturbridge to grab some beers you can't get in PA. Not sure what gets distributed there, but they have Lawson's, Fiddlehead, Allagash, Bissell Bros., Trillium, etc. A huge selection.

And I second a visit to Armsby Abbey.

Jack's Abbey is not far as well. I enjoyed their beer and food when I visited last year.

    Treehouse
    Armsby Abbey(hill farmstead taps)
    Yankee Spirits Sturbridge
    BTs Smokehouse (byob)

    Pretty much all you need!

Not much else close by Treehouse so workth it to make the trip to Worcester for the Abbey. Food and beer list are outstanding. Be safe driving or if you have a DD you can drink a years worth of treehouse and hill farmstead 25 minutes from each other.

Wormtown is a big regional brewer in the area and has their main taproom right off the highway on Shrewsbury Street - worth checking out a Be Hoppy somewhere if you haven't had that yet. Down the block from them is Redemption Rock.

North of Charlton, Seven Saws has a nice facility in Holden.

I think is going to be our exact move. Do all of that on Friday, stay over, and hit Treehouse again Saturday before we hit the road.

    ??? From Charlton to Framingham???

I would view this a different way and if Charlton is the end point then I would look at places like Counterweight, NEBCO, and two roads depending on how you proceed though connecticut.

Just giving suggestions around Charlton. Yes, about 45min east, but could be of interest. Others suggested Armsby Abbey which is about 30min northeast from Charlton.

The only answer to anyone out of town is Armsby. You can make it in 25 minutes longest. Done it countless times.

Framingham is a joke distance wise.

in the cosmic sense sure, but from charlton its still going to be 45 minutes and out of the way.

I second the Counterweight and NEBCO stops along the way or way back.

Oh I fully I agree. Meant a joke to suggest it. Given if you hit any traffic it’s well over an hour.

Well might be a bit much for the trip but going to the Woodstock, CT farmhouse location after a stop in Charlton is like visiting another planet. I swing by to get their cores and have a pour or two. It’s so scenic plus there are a few breweries out near Putnam, which has a cool little downtown with bars and restaurants.

while the thought is in the head if somebody takes more of an indirect approach I suppose that makes some of the NY throughway options like suarez available but my knowledge on that is shallow. My trips from DC to North Central Mass don't usually deviate that far.

edit: you know I say this, I've been up to Weyerbacher and out to Carton/Kane but not the same trip, so they deviate a bit.

This is BA so somebody will eventually spiral into something like "Oh you know, Russian River isn't that far from Charlton, you really ought to pop in while you're in the area. Then you can get a direct flight to Brussels and get some Cantillon.."

Id definitely plan a stop in Connecticut on way up or back. Break up the drive, get food etc.
NEBCO is literally right off the Merritt on new Haven line.
Counterwieght is off of 691 if you take a more westerly route.
East Rock in New Haven is a very good lager brewery and just off of I91.
What route are you taking through our little State of Connecticut, @Kyleetrotter ?
