    Howdy BAs!

This morning flew by with errands. I fetched some great sauce for this rainy day.

Starting with a venerable classic. Seen a lot of these posted recently and that prompted me to revisit an old fave.

I believe at some point there was some recipe rejiggering? Can't remember the details, and too lazy to investigate because what I just poured in my glass is straight up phenomenal beer!

Enjoyed a Weihenstephan Hefe on this holiday Wednesday. I still favour Paulaner ever so slightly.
This was followed up with a great new (for me) find… Mikkeller Energibajer 0.3%. Heavy hop falvours gave this one a more interesting taste than most 4% beers I’ve tried. Impressive.

On a separate note, has anyone here tried any Mad Scientist brews? The name is new to me

Re your question from yesterday, the most prevalent theory is that the dry stone houses were built in this manner so they could be quickly dismantled when the tax inspectors came, as the taxes on property levied by the overlords in the 19th century were outrageously high.

Now, where does one enjoy a beer made with olive extract? Next to the olive tree behind his trullo, of course.

What is in the beaker, a straw of some sort?

What does that taste like? Can you taste anything similar to olive oil?

A straw, probably made from something compostable. Don’t know, wasn’t my drink. I was curious about the glassware and a number of different bottled brews they had by the Hungarian craft brewer. Wasn’t brave enough to try one this time though

Thought I was done at two, but ordered the third and final after breaking the seal and seeing the $5 pint special for this Italian Pilsner.

Did my BA Good Deed for the day, by pushing this offering to the 10 ratings threshold and thus awarding an 86 score!

Review linked above. This is a standard American take on an Italian Pilsner, hoppy and slightly dry. Good beer, glad I ordered before heading back to shopping on the way home.

    1) Einbecker Brauherren Pils (4.9%): An authentic German Pils with flavors of earthy pale Munich malts, floral notes. A smooth, earthy finish.
    versus
    2) Jever Pilsener (4.9%): An authentic German Pils with flavors of light floral and lemon citrus, crisp pale Munich malts. Bright and clean. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) Jever Pilsener:
German Pils Battle. First up is Einbecker. A great German Pils not easy always to find fresh. It's smooth and has a distinct earthy and rustic note to it. Pleasant.
Next is Jever. This has become one of my go-to German Pilsners. Somewhat easy to find. Crisp, bright, and floral, while still hitting all of the malt flavors. Smooth and so good for a German Pils.

I consider myself a good steward to the land in general, and bought myself multiple sets of stainless steel straws back during straw-gate days specifically.

But... there's been no worse abomination of human endeavor than the invention of paper straws! Oh, perhaps TikTok.

I am deeply lamenting my purchase of only ONE Stone IPA.

Will remedy that in the near future.

For now, I'm counting on the latest sauce (May 4th of course) from Modestman to soothe my woes.

Straw for beer? I have never had beer from a straw. Not interested either. Seems to me it would allow for extra not needed bubbles.
I know one person over my 54 years of life that does that...still do not understand her thought process on that. I do mock here every time I see her doing that...in a friendly way of course

Do you drink your beer from a straw?
