Hop Butcher Grid (5.75% no canning date): A Pale Ale from Chicago with Citra & Mosaic for flavors of tangerine, mild citrus, and tropical berries.

Guess I'm keeping on the Hop Butcher trend today. Second try at this Pale Ale. Citra and Mosaic come together, but it drinks milder than I expected. It's not really New-England style hazy, nor is it bitter west-coast. Somewhere in that juicy, but clear spectrum in between. I saw some reviews on this that suggested a higher ABV and adding some bitterness could help it and I would agree with that. Feels like it is lacking some element. It's okay. Honestly, it's not one of my favorites and not all of them can be. Still glad I tried it, but I probably won't pick it up again.

Celebrator, a Doppelbock from German brewery Ayinger (6.7%).

I haven't seen a bottle of this in the wild for ages, so glad that I randomly chanced upon it and bought a couple of bottles. I just regret not buying more. This is even better than I remembered it, almost more like a stout than a doppelbock, with rich chocolate and coffee notes and an incredible body and mouthfeel for the ABV.

Home early today and enjoying Shroomies, a very tasty, New Zealand-style TIPA from Other Half. IMHO it’s really flown under the radar. Thursday cheers!

Interesting. Our rattlers usually come out of their dens around the first week of June, assuming the snow has melted.
