I have just learned that Greg was injured in a fall on 04/18 and was paralyzed from the neck down. Later updates said that he was taken off of the ventilator on 05/05; the comments can be found here in his now last review :sob:

Greg was an integral part in my craft beer journey and I always got a kick out of his rants about bottle/can dates and beer freshness. He will be missed! :beers:

So sad, but thanks for passing along the news. I don’t watch many video reviews, but have enjoyed the ones I’ve watched of his, especially for his fearless honest takes, good or bad, on what he was experiencing.

Drinking a Hop Butcher For The World Daaa Boats in his honor.

Damn. While Greg could be long-winded at times, I enjoyed listening to him because it reminded me of hearing from older friends/family members talking about beer. Just what they liked/didn't like, etc.

I haven’t heard of him before, but knew many paraplegics and quadriplegics. His daughter said in the YouTube comment that he decided he didn’t want to live any longer If he couldn’t do the things he loved , including drinking beer. The guys I knew had no problem drinking beer, and/or booze, you just have to do it through a straw. Even though I didn’t know him, it’s very sad and I hope for the best for his family.

Wow so sad! What a bummer. Thanks for sharing the news. I probably wouldn't have known otherwise. I didn't watch him tons but I always enjoyed the videos I did watch and always left thinking he seemed like a nice dude and fun to have a beer with. Always loved him starting the video by having a look at what was in his fridge.

Based on this post from 5/7 by a YT account stating she is Greg's daughter, Greg is not dead and being taken off the ventilator was planned due to his progress since his fall. Hopefully he can make a full recovery, or the best possible to allow him to live life and enjoy living.

That is sad to hear. I always enjoyed checking out what he had in the fridge and his laid-back attitude. Cheers to Greg.

Super sad. But, I'm with Greg - quality of life is what matters. That doesn't necessarily mean having to drink beer, but rather the ability to do things you love.

Wow! That is so sad. Greg and Chris, from beergeeknation were my go to reviewers back in the day.
All the best to him and his family.

Greg Puckett was the Fred Rogers of the beer vlog community. "Hey guys, let's go see what's in the fridge today." With every beer review, he conveyed a child-like joy that was immediately passed on to anyone watching his videos. I'm extremely saddened by this news, and I hope he's surrounded by loved ones as he navigates whatever lies ahead. A lot of "beertube" reviewers fake it as they make it. Greg was never anything but himself. You can't put a price on the genuine article. Peace, sir.

Definitely watched many of his reviews, and appreciated them all. I wonder if i'm the only one who thinks of him seeing the bottle art of one of Founders Brewing's more famous beers. Not the name, not that needs to be said, just the art.

I’m not familiar with Greg, but he’s my boy if he rants about freshness dating.

Used to watch beer reviews back in the day when I was first dove head first into craft beer. I loved seeing his beer fridge and his switch blade bottle openers. He always came across as a genuine and nice guy.

I am sure more beers have a bottle on dates today because of this man.

if he ever got a beer without a date he would rant about it. Then say something like time for me to get off my soapbox.
