Didn’t see a new 2024 thread for Seattle.
Flying into SeaTac this Sunday for one night to see our daughter. We’re staying at one of the airport hotels this trip since we are basically in for 24 hours. We get in around 130 and will have the rest of the afternoon and evening to enjoy some good food and beers before flying back to LAX on Monday. Need a rec either in the airport location or in the downtown/Cap Hill location. A restaurant with good food and beer, or a place to eat close by a brewery or beer bar. Don’t have time to eat in downtown and drive to Fremont. I’ve been to Pikes, Old Stove and Cloudburst on my last trip to Seattle. I was thinking Old Stove for dinner & beers. Had their beers, but didn’t eat there. My daughter loves Fremont and visits them often. So since we don’t have a lot of time together I’d like to keep it near CapHill or Downtown. IPA’s>Lagers/Pils>Stouts. Cheers and Happy New Years!

Guessing the regular thread will be here shortly, but I'd say train to westlake and up the hill is your best bet. The newish Stoup location on cap hill should fill your beer hierarchy well, and a plethora of great spots to eat up there as well. If you're into ramen, there's a great spot (ooink) a block from Stoup, and an all downhill walk from the cap hill link station. I'm not the biggest Old Stove fan, so have no idea about their foods.

Our 1 night trip to Seattle turned into a 2 night trip. Our flight this morning was canceled because of the recall of max9’s. So we are watching the Championship game in our hotel room. We stopped in Stoup Capitol Hill after lunch at Ooink. What an amazing brewery. Great beers. Wish I had known we were going to stop at Stoup today before buying Fremont cans last night at Fremont Brewery. Nothing wrong with InterUrban cans but Stoup is delicious. Either way it was a great trip in very cold & wet Seattle.

Hitting up the Gov't Mule show at the Moore tomorrow night. I think the plan is to park at Northgate and light rail in from there. Cloudburst and Old Stove seem nearby, anything else?

Here Today is close. I have it saved, but haven't been and don't really know anything about it.

The Black Cat bar is around the corner from Cloudburst and is a good spot that usually has great beers on.

the Stoup cap hill location is an easy walk up the hill

I have some mobility issues, so that's probably out of reach for me. Thanks anyway!

If you're heading from the Moore to Cloudburst, it's worth pointing out that getting from 1st Ave. down to Western Ave. can a pretty steep walk. Lenora St. is particularly challenging, regardless of whether you're heading down to Cloudburst or back up to the Moore. Virginia St. and Stewart St. are less steep, if I recall correctly.

Best chance to try Floodland if I'm coming out Labor Day weekend? Is it still the Masonry?

Looks like you can order bottles for pick-up, if you want to ship some home: https://www.floodlandbrewing.com/

I did see this, but it makes it sound like they're released during the odd months - I'll only be in Seattle through Aug 29; I've signed up for the mailing list so we'll see, but hoping to find a spot to enjoy while I'm out there if possible.

Keep an eye out for events. It seems like unless you're headed to to Orcas, there's not a 100% consistent option. Brouwer's Cafe has had at least one on-prem option available for a while.

My oldest son is getting married in Seattle in June. Last time we visited him, I had planned to hit Ballard Area and go to a couple of the following:
    • Urban Family
    • Stoup
    • Reuben's
    • Lucky Envelope
    • Fair Isle
We didn't make it, but should have time in this visit. Urban and Stoup seem to be the top two. Fair Isle looks different. Any thoughts or other suggestion for the Ballard Area?

I'd put Reuben's at the top. Fair Isle is great, if you can get it. If you like the joose box beers and diabeetus stouts, GN is for you.

For my money, Reuben's is at the top of that list.

I'd say it depends on your style preference. If you're pressed for time, I'd definitely drop off Lucky Envelope. My must-hit there would be Fair Isle. I also second Great Notion being worth a stop. When we go down we frequently are able to hit most of this list, as most do half-pours, so you could have a few at each spot and then wander to the next. With the opening of the Cap Hill Stoup, it's become less of priority on Ballard trips.

I also personally like Bale Breaker which is in the easy walk cluster of Ballard as well, and even tho it's not in the main Ballard cluster, for an out of towner, I think it'd be worth heading over to Cloudburst.

Thanks! We are staying downtown and can walk to the Cloudburst. So, we may hit another day in our wonderings.

LOL. The one brewery that I didn't check their taplist before posting. So, I just checked their taplist and can see why there are votes for number one. Thanks!

Also, it will be Father's Day Weekend. So, I will have a good excuse to drag the clan to a few breweries (not that my Denver son and his fiancé need an excuse).

Not on the list but if you're after food I love the sliders and onion rings at The Jolly Roger. Their onion rings are my all time favorite and their Mahi Sliders are fucking delicious. Their beer is mostly old school, but I still dig several things they brew.
