    OFGC is probably the best beer they released last year and is close to Tete B1 for best beer hes ever made.

    I love this series and am excited for it. B1 still ranks really high on my favorite beers list.

    I’m hoping they do something similar to twcp, that one was really good and I’d like to try something with light vanilla again

    for some reason I wasn’t a fan of 3, but I was a big fan of 4. 2 I can’t even remember lol

    on another note I wonder if they used alot of the newest anabasis in this blend, the latest blend isn’t receiving very much praise. I’ve got one on deck, but can anyone comment what the latest batch is missing? It’s a pretty steep drop off in reviews compared to every other blend

    Yes haha I remember the beer I just can’t seem to remember the experience, tho according to UT I really enjoyed it

    Oh wow we’re getting the works in this, ba maple syrup, 2 types of vanilla and cinnamon.
    Hopefully it doesn’t take away from the bload oath sherry bourbon barrels

    I wish there was a little more info. It is unusual for them to use threads that are aged for just a year. :thinking_face:

    Normally a barleywine with this many adjuncts would be an easy pass for me but I loved B2

    Continuance finds its parallels with our Derivation series of beers - where Derivation focuses on using our Barrel Aged Stouts as the foundation, Continuance was started to focus on all of the other malty Barrel Aged beers we had aging, especially our Barrel Aged Barleywines.

    Once this series started, it allowed us to start brewing Barleywine recipes without any initial plan. We could start building new recipes and new Barrel Aged Barleywines in our barrel house - just like we do with our Barrel Aged Stouts - and then return to them when they are ready to build beautiful beers and experiment along the way.

    Continuance Blend #5 is a blend of 2 new Barleywine recipes named "Eng Light" and "Eng Dark". They were written to explore some early interpretations of the famous King Recipe (my favorite non SP Barleywine of all time). Both recipes were fermented with Nottingham yeast but the Light recipe focuses on Maris Otter, with a splash of caramel and special b malts, where the Dark recipes uses Pale Ale malt for a base with wheat, caramel and even a dark chocolate malt for experimentation. We aged these recipes in a blend of 7 year Willett Bourbon and 7 year Blood Oath Barrels. Both recipes turned out fantastic and we are currently brewing them again for blending in a couple of years!

    After blending, we knew we wanted to follow in the shoes of Derivation and thoughtfully infuse some adjuncts into Continuance #5 to create not only a beautiful beer, but something truly unique and memorable. Using D9 and Maple in the Wood as reference points, we infused the final Continuance blend with Willett Barrel Aged Maple Syrup, fresh ground cinnamon and an Uganda/Tanzania blend of Vanilla Beans. The beer is balanced and exciting and put smiles on all of the brewers faces when we first tasted it from the brite tank.

    I'm torn. It sounds fantastic but I'm sitting on like 5 barleywines at the moment and don't know if I need another. Hope they put it on tap at some point so I can at least try it.

    What’s the king recipe??
    The recipes sound so good I kinda wish it had no adjuncts

    Wow b3 number 1 eh? That was my least favorite, crazy how taste differ, or maybe it’s time I revisit that one.

    Yeah, my notes say enormous fig and boozy brew….I actually kicked my rating up from first try to second and third. I’m not saying it improved in the six months in bottle between taste one and two, but I at least relented to feeling it was a perfectly crafted beer for my palate. TWCP Continuance was a monster and so damn good. I’d be fine saying that was number one, too. But it may have been a little less lively on the palate (more still) and so with that tiny bit of extra carb I would go with b3. No losers!
