Still threatening rain that hasn't materialized, but temp dropped by 10 degrees in an hour.

Sticking with Summerfest. Mostly cuz I'm out of Urqs (for shame!).

...from what I understand, the vaccine hasn't been tested on the under-50 populace, so it's not approved by the FDA...

With the severe weather warning Mrs. Ozone and I will not be able to grill, so meatballs are on the menu. For what it is worth, @TheIPAHunter I wouldn't wait. My daughter who is 44 got the shingles a year ago and it was horrible.

Check with your healthcare provider. I would guess it’s riskier above the age of 50.

I swear I never had chicken pox but the shingles was bad. I thought my guts were rotting out. Weird. They say you can contract the pox and not have symptoms. Unlike the Covid, I could still have a beer.

My PCP has been after me for a few years to get that shot. Is shingles itchy ,rash and welts or all three . Is it something that stays with you once you get an outbreak?

Sorry you don’t feel well, but 2 days of side effects are probably better than a dose of the shingles.

Pure Project Murkeley a double NEIPA, enjoying the back porch, on a warm breezy day.

...sorry you went through that...and, just because one is vaccinated against whatever nasty viral / bacterial nasty doesn't mean you still won't catch the crap...I wonder if you were exposed to chicken pox back in your youth but never had the disease manifest itself...

It usually runs along a nerve, kind of a burning pain. I worked with a lady that got it on her face near her eye, it almost blinded her. Nasty stuff.

My wife had a very small case on her back, she’s not a complainer but she said it was the worst pain she’s had in a long time.

...my brother mentioned the pain, too...glad your wife had only a 'small case', but even that doesn't sound good based on her description...

...I know I had chicken pox as a kid...don't recall it being bad per se, just another good reason not to go to school (I probably equated it to having the measles), I suppose, but I'm also sure it's nothing like shingles...
