Thank you for opening today @MadMadMike . I likely started my pour before you, but have taken the time to really savor (have about 6 oz left) and write up my notes for the bonus New Beer Weekend #201 day (Link).

Full review linked above. Bottom line, this beer resembles an American Malt Liquor (Colt 45 though sweeter / thicker) and a European Strong Lager, and while I can be picky with both styles (and all malty styles including Heller Bock/Maibock, I am digging this one as it settles into a nice beer with some warmth.

There will be Miles and Miles of Miles today to celebrate Miles Davis' 98th birthday (May 26 - this is the first weekday after) on WDCB. Here are two selections from Matthew Hermes' set, the overnight show that picked up the mantle from Art Bell's Coast to Coast before he left.

    Good morning Advocates,
this Monday we woke up to a new European basketball Champion, the legendary Panathinaikos Athens. Seventh seal. Truly exciting, against the favorite Real Madrid... Incredible Final 4 in Berlin...
Pints high for the Champions, with a beer that you will probably know and have tasted in better conditions, but which is still a "gem" for where I am.

An American pint can that I pay between €7/€8 at the beer shop.
It's an India Pale Ale with American (Citra, Simcoe) and New Zealand (Motueka) hops and the Citra also in the Cryo version (i.e. subjected to a cryogenic separation process of the lupulin by pressing and pulverising the hops at a very low temperature in order to separate it from the rest of the whole leaf hops, where aromatic oils and resins are highly concentrated).

Considering the refrigerated air transport and the difficult availability of fresh products, this can in my area can also be considered not old:
Packaging date indicated on the bottom of the can: 02/15/2024.
As soon as it is torn, it immediately has an intense aroma of citrus fruits and a bouquet of tropical fruit (lychee). When poured, these aromas flare up, while in the glass it seems as if fruit juice has been poured: a completely nebulous and impenetrable yellow colour, tending towards orange (classic "hazy").
    Virtually non-existent foam.
In the mouth, a medium-bodied beer with Sardinian carbonation, with a very intense flavor of citrus fruits (grapefruit, ripe orange) with fruity nuances ranging from white peach, ripe plum (plum), to tropical (mango, litchi, pineapple). The taste is truly invasive and inebriating.
The drink is full and flows on a well-structured body to support this burst of taste.
There is (clearly) a slight sensation of silkiness on the tongue, which leaves ample space for fruity hints without however leaving room for any noteworthy bitter note on the tongue, which I personally would have DEFINITELY appreciated... But that's it.
Only the fruitiness remains in the mouth, for a long time after drinking.
The product is sensational for its intensity of taste and importance of the drink it offers... I certainly don't think of drinking just any (hazy?) IPA... You can feel that it is a super product, certainly modern in style, but a great product.
It's a shame about the total absence of bitterness, which in such an exuberant fruity taste of citrus and a range of summer and tropical fruit would have been good to give that extra touch of personality to every sip, but these are merely personal tastes.
It remains a masterpiece to inspire those who want to market modern products, but with distinctive character.

Taste is a double wide blast of malt and hops and I mean literally a double serving of both. A big whammy of flavors that make no excuses and take no prisoners. Relatively simple but big by any measure.

Full bodied texture with matching carbonation.

This is a true 4B, which is to say big, brawny, bruiser of a brew. Not a food beer and not for the timid.
