Interesting thing to point out, but many hotels rooms or studios in Europe are lacking a fridge, whatever the reason. I can keep beer outside the window in winter months a bit, from now on it’s more tricky.

    1) Modist Fang & Bone (5.3%): An oak-aged New Zealand Pils from Minnesota with flavors of pale malts, earthy and smooth yeast.
    versus
    2) Drowned Lands River Birch (5.1%): An oak-aged dry-hopped Pils from NY with flavors of citrus, tropcial fruit, earthy and smooth pale malts and yeast. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) Drowned Lands River Birch
: Oak-aged hoppy pilsner battle today. First is Modist Fang & Bone, listed as an oak-aged New Zealand Pils. Earthy, slightly oaky. Smooth. This one is pretty good, but the oak sort of knocks out the hop flavors and bitterness in these beers sometimes.
Next is Drowned Lands River Birch. First beer from these guys. This one is hoppy with citrus and tropical flavors. A smooth bread malt. The oak is subtle and tamed. Drinks nicely. Hoppy as described.
This battle reminds me of the thread about Italian Pilsners and about whether they should be a substyle recently. I don't know if we should start further subcategorizing German Pilsners, but an Oak-aged hoppy New Zealand Pilsner definitely takes more work to describe than it should. I like these beers regardless.

I'm familiar wit the the old 'bag outside the window trick' too
I also noticed many places have changed their insane expensive 'mini-bars' for small fridges 'for your convenience' now. Bu still most places in NW Europe lack a small fridge, even the somewhat high end places.
We do have a good coffee machine at this place by the way
    Cheers!

That is definitely the unique beer of the day Dave, sounds very interesting! It sounds well executed but get the sentiment on a repeat purchase.
Me, just hanging out in Western NC enjoying a regional English BA Barleywine from Fonta Flora. Their barrel program is coming along nicely.
Listening to a little Rock Bar from Sirius.
    Cheers!
