“Veos, a processing company from Wingene in West Flanders, has celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special brew. Wingene is the capital of Flemish pig-rearing and appropriately Veos’s birthday beer was made from pig's blood.” Vrt.be
Yet another example of "Would you drink a beer made with water that originated from (take your pick) your shower/septic/urine/farmland cow pond, etc., or any other source you would not normally drink from without it being properly processed and purified." Live link for the PBR (Pig's Blood Repurposed) beer: https://www.vrt.be/
Oops, the link I supplied wasn't correct for the story. This should do it: https://www.vrt.be/vrtnws/en/2024/06/03/flemish-company-makes-beer-from-pig-s-blood/
if I’m reading the article correctly, it’s not made from pigs blood, it’s made from water that is reclaimed from pigs blood. Pretty big difference between those two things to me.
my one fav doom band made lager))) https://mydyingbride.net/latest-news/old-earth-a-classic-vienna-lager/
I'd be in. I really don't see a problem. I've heard of the tech company before. I also ate Portuguese blood sausage for years and this beer using purified water from an unusual source is nowhere near that by any stretch. Pretty impressive volume of potable water made in a day, too. Hopefully they (Veos) can make it all an economically viable business.
I take it you’re a fan of Norwegian death metal? It’s crazy to think that they actually burnt down several thousand year old churches in the name of black metal. https://dailyhive.com/mapped/norway-black-metal-church-fires-history
Yeah man. Mayhem was WILD. Burning churches, eating parts of a band members brain after they committed suicide, making necklaces out of the skull fragments, using the suicide scene picture as an album cover and of course murder.
Yeah, burning down 1000 year old churches was just the tip of the iceberg. I think Hank from Turbonegro’s story about them giving up on the death metal antics was hilarious.
