Just got off the phone with my good friend Edgar Preciado from Beer Thug Brewing / Life, who was shot while driving to the brewery Thursday morning. He suffered some injuries (shotgun blasts targeted the back window of his car and they pulled 15 pellets out of his head), but he's doing okay and will be back to the brewery very soon. So very sorry to hear that, and I wish him well in his recovery. Seems to be the way things are headed these days more and more. Just a few hours ago I got off of work where I was, maybe threatened is too strong a word, but intimidated by 4 gang/thug types who felt that they don't need to live by the same rules as the rest of us. And last October I was sleeping in my bed at 5 in the morning when 4 bullets came ripping through my bedroom window, missing my head by about two feet. Compliments of an idiot who apparently was owed money by an individual that I live with who hangs out with criminal types. I'm thankful that I'm still here today to talk about it, but the way things are going these days just makes me want to go live on a deserted island somewhere away from everybody. Well, almost everybody. Mary Ann and Ginger can come with me.
Sad to hear, well wishes from me! Stuff like this is why I have a red line about who I associate with. I learned pretty young that if you are proximate to certain types people, you risk catching strays. Didn’t always have the luxury of hard enforcement of course. Sad that we even have scrutinize people that hard for our own safety.
