Good morning fellow frenchie or France resident at least.

Also drinking a Belgian beer, Grimbergen take on a Pale ale and it’s good:

I’ve mentioned a bit about the D-Day commemorations earlier this week. I know this is a knowledgeable and educated crowd here, and today is European Election Day.

This is a leaflet from the Allies mocking German third Reich dignitary Hermann Goering who stated he’d be inclined to be called « Herr Meyer » (Mr. Smith) if a single Allies bomb would drop on Germany. Let’s say that when confronted to tyrants and genocidal regimes best we can do is combat them with humor:

Deep golden color with lasting white cap.

Aroma of sweet malt and citrus hops.

Taste on entry is sweet malt in abundance with a dusting of citrus hops. I find sweet, caramely malt to be the main flavor but hops have a close enough presence to balancing the malt richness.

    Full texture with balancing carbonation.

This is a big (9%) malty brew that comes across as more finess than powerful. Like a large, heavy man who is also a graceful dancer.

I love agricultural stuff. "Hay, that's nice!" I believe with all of the rain we've had so far this year locally, any crop be it grass, veggies or trees will do very well this year. Hopefully the rain machine won't totally shut off. :beers:

Good day BAs! Thanks @MadMadMike for kicking off today's thread!
Off to a damp start here in NW PA - spent most of unusually dry and sunny yesterday working outside in my bushes and in the garden - sorry @thebeers - I haven't had Boston lager in forever but as I recall, it was my initiation into beer with hops you could actually taste, so, no.

Today's New Breakfast Beer derived from Half Time (they could at least use some lubricant!):

Final Impression and summation: 4 Not dinging the score for an undated can – style is consistent with batch #2 – beer geeks know, and beer non-geeks won’t pay the price. Decent barleywine with weak barrels versus strong dark fruitiness. Seems a bit aged to have so much burn although the burn is more mellow at the end temperature.

    Rating 4.08, rDev – 4.9%

I vaguely remember thinking my first Sam Adams Oktoberfest 30+ years ago was “too hoppy” (which then meant bitter). How tastes change! :beers:

No kidding! I think this past Oct I tried more Oktoberfest beers than ever before and gained new respect for ones that are a little bit more hoppy and that are light. I recall finding Shiner Okto being quite pleasant in this regard.
