There's some Bigfoot left around my area. Might have to do a side by side. Then throw up and fall asleep.

I agree though as someone who has had a lot of Bigfoot including two weeks ago on tap.
I never really considered “Strong Ale” a specific style. Simply just a category to place stronger beers that a brewery hasn’t specifically put into a category.

Just look at the top ten here on BA. “Coffee cinnamon bomb” shouldn’t be anywhere near something like Double Bastard.

The writing you sent with that coffee looks awesome on the beer fridge. There it shall stay…:beers:

Thanks for the heads up - last night I refreshed the Stone Beer Finder and saw it was now available local at Henning's Market. Picked up a couple six packs

That could be bad news - they probably won’t release it again if it doesn’t sell

Why yes, I have Bigfoot in my fridge and have been drinking since the 2024 Release. I would agree that they are very similar. Hence my comment that Bigfoot is less hoppier than releases 8-10 year ago.

Fair point. I have never dove into the historical aspect or details of what is considered an English Strong Ale, but I always though it was specific English style of beer. You used to see more Strong and Old Ales on the market (still drink North Coast version). The difference to me between IPAs and Ales is the amount of hops.

The difference between an ale and a strong ale is the alcohol content. However, if you asked the difference between a winter warmer (Fremont B-bomb) and a strong ale, you got me. I would consider them both strong ales.

Well, there I go again showing my level of ignorance...at least this thread allowed me to make a decision on what to drink to night. Bigfoot!

Hopefully the reaction across the country is a bit different then just at the San Diego facility.

Looking at Stone's FB and Instagram - their posts about Double Bastard have way more likes/comments than their average posts, so hopefully that's a good sign.

(Interesting thought about demographics - on Facebook, the Double Bastard posts have about 10x the likes compared to other Stone posts. But on Instagram, it's maybe 3x more than the average Stone post. Likely older folks that would be the nostalgia demographic for re-releasing discontinued beers)

Agreed. I also think us older folks that loved DB and OG back in the day actually have the palate for that sort of thing. Younger beer drinkers, IMO, are less likely to like this crazy bitter beers.

I had hoped that first layer on their tongue from birth was ripped off by the recent Ruination re-release so they’d be ok with DB. Ah well. More conditioning is needed.

I saw that this morning. So random where this beer is showing up. And until this morning, I didn't even know Hennings had beer lol. Cheers and Enjoy!

Hennings just added a beer section about a month ago. I don't know if it will last, but at least initially they have a high quality selection.

For folks mentioning Old Guardian in this thread, seems a limited release might be on the horizon possibly? This label would suggest it anyway. Label indicates brewed in Richmond fwiw. Maybe @Resistance88 can get the skinny on it.

Based on the labeling not saying fan favorite release and that it's in 16 oz cans, my guys is brewery only release.
