Yep, the oddity for me is to own one Guinness glass and using it for basically anything and rarely buying Foreign extra stout, also my fave one.

Weiner Wednesday at Big Hammock Brewing. Today is a nacho dog with seasoned ground beef, nacho cheese, corn chips, lettuce, jalapenos and cilantro cream. It was delicious with a Founders Mortal Bloom IPA.....

    1) Arbeiter HAHA Pils (5.1%): A German Pilsner from Minnesota with flavors of floral notes, crisp pilsner malt. Yeasty, slightly bitter, and clean
    versus
    2) Humble Forage Pin Seeker Pils (4.2%): A German Pilsner from Minnesota with flavors of lemon citrus, lemonflower, with a bitter and light sweet finish. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner: 1) Arbeiter HAHA Pils
A German Pils Battle. First is Arbeiter Pils. First try at this. Pours nicely. Floral notes. Crisp, yeasty, and clean.
Next is Humble Forager. A lower ABV, but more sweet citrusy notes for the pilsner. A bit more citrusy and not quite as clean.
Both are good, but impressed by the clean and crisp quality of Arbeiter. I haven't had a whole lot of their beers, but this is the most impressive one I've had.

RIP, quite a character and a kind one. Incredible career and a beauty from the 60s up until that terrible illness she tried to fight for so many years.

    Adieu, madame!

    1) Drekker Evil Natured Robots (8.0% canned 4/23/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota brewed with Mosaic & NZH-107 hops for flavors of orange citrus, green pineapple, guava, coconut, and lime.
    versus
    2) BlackStack More Than Just A Phase (8.3% no canning date): A NIPEA from Minnesota/Chicago with Mosaic, New Zealand Nectaron & experimental HBC 1019 for flavors of juicy pineapple, mango, berries, grape with a smooth stonefruit and mango creamy finish. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner: Drekker Evil Natured Robots
Drekker vs. BlackStack/Phase Three IPA Battle. First is Drekker Evil Natured Robots. One of my favorites from Drekker with Mosaic and NZH-107. Tropical Mosaic, plus bright berries and grape from the NZH-107. Creamy and smooth. Of of their best I've had.
Next is BlackStack More Than Just A Phase. A new collab from BlackStack and Phase Three in Chicago. Promising and similar hop combo here. This one has that juicy pineapple and mango flavor typical in BlackStack IPAs. But also leans a bit more tropical from the Mosaic. The Nectaron and HBC 1019 add a bit of stonefruit creaminess. It's complex and well-rounded.
A collab between two of my favorite IPA breweries so I'll take it. Drekker getting the win here for now, but I'm going to keep trying more of this BlackStack/Phase Three collab and it may keep growing on me.

How are those cellar IPAs drinking? I don't let them get cellar old, but Hop Butcher IPAs seem to stand up surprisingly better with age than other NEIPAs I've had.

Not to rain on your parade, but in sports you win some and you lose some. Top athletes know this and move on. The problem with modern civilization is that the name calling degenerates to violent threats. It is just a game, let’s enjoy them and keep them that way.

I hope the wonderful beer changed your mood. Cheers!

They have been refrigerated since purchase, so doing fine. This one is 11 months old, and tasted fine. Not as sharp or crisp as 0-2 months fresh, but also not malty or facing ill flavor impact. I just need to stay within a 4-6 week window for drink fresh beer style purchases on a go-forward basis. The style appropriate cellar beers (BA Stouts and Saisons/Lambics) will take another year or two.

I've only lost one beer to infection / drain pour status (Big Bad Baptist), so have been very fortunate over time. Also never had a "gusher".

Nice to continue to see you score and enjoy great beers from the Midwest.
