@defunksta - I haven't had the chance to pick up Lord Octopus but based on Mosaic plus your review will grab it next release. Heading to Grand Rapids in two months and hoping Founders has long lost favorite Mosaic Promise not distributed here this decade on tap.

    1) Fair State Side Pull (4.1%): A Czech Pale lager from Minnesota with flavors of pale bread malty, yeast, light salty notes. Light and clean.
    versus
    2) Venn Pils (5.6%): A Czech Pils from Minnesota with flavors of German Pilsner malt, bread, some lemon hop flavors with a dry yeast. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Fair State Side Pull:
Czech Lager Battle. First is Fair State Side Pull. A Czech Pale Lager from Fair State. Light, crispy, and clean. A bit of that Czech malt flavor. Next is Venn Pils. A Czech Pilsner. Similar, but slightly larger and sweeter as expected. The flavors of both are spot on. Giving the win to Fair State for making this unique style. Simple, but wonderfully crafted.

    Awesome 1980's tune.
Because of the band name, at the time I used to think they were French. That was not 1980, by the way. This tune was played here for many years on the radio.
    Cheers!

Well, that last beer was pretty weak overall. They can't all be good. Lemme ramp it up with this Warrior Templar Pale Ale. Veteran owned. Veteran brewed. It is excellent. Cheers BAs!

A hot morning of golf. We played early enough that it wasn't too hot. I wouldn't want to be teeing off now.
    Modelo after the round.

Nice new wave classic 1980s « Fade to grey » translate to « devenir gris », and a good chunk of the song is translated from English to French. Cheers!

@VodkaPong87 I don't know if Galaxy hops are ever coming "back." A varietal that was unique and refreshing at its debut, I haven't tasted it the same ever since. For a few years, it's a bit flat and almost dirty - not bad, exactly, but definitely not the same. At this point, it seems that this is just the way that hop is going to be. :slight_frown:

...a very carrot-y and orange-like saison...not bad tasting, just different...glad to have tried it, wouldn't go out of my way for another purchase...does make for a fine hot-weather thirst quencher, though...personally, I'd rather have a good pilsner...

    1) Hop Butcher Cosmic Fountain (7.5% canned 3/18/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Waimea & Mosaic for flavors of tropical orange, grape, resinous stonefruit and berries.
    versus
    2) Hop Butcher Unwind Your Mind (7.5% canned 4/8/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic, El Dorado, & Moteuka for flavors of tropical orange, berries, some resinous pine. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Hop Butcher Cosmic Fountain
    :
Monday. So why not a Hop Butcher Beer Battle. First is Cosmic Fountain. Tons of tropical notes here. Lots of Mosaic qualities. Lots of tropical berries and grapes here. Only my second try, but enjoying it far better than my first try at this
Next is my first try at Unwind Your Mind. Tropical, a bit of dank pine. Fairly easy drinking and clean.Tropical Mosaic. Then some resinous pine from the El Dorado. Not getting as much bright lime from the Moteuka as I'd expect. It's very clean.
I tend to not enjoy Hop Butcher beers as well the first time I try them. My first try at Cosmic Fountain wasn't that impressed, but today it's better than I remember. Today's first go at Unwind Your Mind seems sort of underwhelming, but based on experience I might enjoy it more with some time. I thought Cosmic Fountain was better, but as they warm they are drinking extremely similar.
