Yes, FM and HR will let you mix a 4 pack for a bit more $. I have no issue with that. My issue was the taps were not working at HR so they were charging the draft price for a can. I bought a pack for $15 and left. Why would I pay you $28 just so I can drink them at the bar? Any other time you are not allowed to open a can at the bar. Again, not my problem your taps are not working, sorry.

I hope you enjoyed the 8 beers you tried. Both breweries make great beer.

    Enjoy

    Absolutely agree, cotton, cotton, cotton!

Also, please do 1/2 pours. A proper one allows me to truly experience that beer, plus I get to try a few more. I don't even care if you charge a little more than half price of the full pour.

And, if you do have printed menus, please use a larger and bolder type/font.

Yeah, not a fan of places that don't do half pours. I completely forgive for not doing tasters as those are a pain and not exactly a great representation of the beer. I like to not get effed up and half pours go a long way towards me being able to enjoy a few different things and stay upright. Also full hate towards places that do the full pour $8 / half pour $6 to basically just give the middle finger to someone who doesn't want to drink a whole pint. More proportionally is fine, but when it's so off that it makes no sense that agitates me.

I agree. While I did state I don't mind charging a tad more for a half pour, don't insult me.

I also hate the need to use QR codes for access to menus.

Not have mix 4, 6, 12 or 24 packs to go. I don’t want to have to buy 4 of same brew I’d rather try all the offerings I didn’t get to taste (unless one I really like of course). I don’t see how allowing customers to mix and match costs breweries money.

Depends. Is the owner watching brain dead as the staff are in the weeds and customers aren’t being served? Yes, I’d be annoyed. Are the other bar seats taken? When guests come in my home, I get up and offer them a seat and I’ll stand if need be. As a customer, my wife and I will juggle seats to accommodate other customers looking to sit together. Why can’t the owner. When I’m on a subway and someone who hobbles around worse than me boards, I get up and offer my seat. How f-ing hard is common courtesy.

This is utterly inexcusable in my book. IMO few things reflect more poorly as to how a brewery respects their customers than by selling out-of-date beer.

I refuse to use them, and ask for a printed menu. If they don't have one I walk.

    Bumping the thread again.

Had another grumble grumble moment when I picked up some beers to go. Came out to something something and change, and it just so happened I had a pocket full of change along with some cash. I was a few cents short at most, and figured the beertender would just give me the two bucks back—the actual difference, minus a few pennies—and call it a day. NOPE.

Instead, I received a dollar and 98¢ in pocket change. Come on, man! Just round it up. I don’t usually tip just for beer-to-go, but this was a favorite stop, and I was feeing generous up to that point.

Because they should be working the room. You know, like how restaurant owners do.

    THIS!
…and a curse on you if you can’t/won’t keep your tap list current on line, including at least some rudimentary description of the beers.

Most breweries operate on very small margins. Pennies make dollars. Sorry that an actual fair transaction led to you getting the correct amount of US currency back.

    • When there's subpar food, or subpar beer - either combination.
    • In lieu of people to talk with, no board games.
    • Fewer than ten taps at a brewery.
    • Fewer than ten taps at a brewery, and they're all of the same style.
    • No take-home options, or special edition bottles/cans you can only find at the location.
    • A politically one-sided environment.

When the bartender is too interested in what they hope is their side piece and don’t worry about your empty glass and mean mug while waiting to order something else.

Whatever the opposite of a pet peeve is, what I appreciate are places that include the tax in their posted prices. Nice round whole numbers just float my boat. Especially when I am paying cash (instead of putting it on a card and giving a cut to the banks). That might be a better spin on this.

I will echo what a few have already said.
I can't stand a lack of diversity on the tap list. If a brewery has nine taps and seven of them are IPAs, I will just disregard them alltogether.

Eh, depends. Some owners it's better if they just sit there and have a couple beers. and, I don't particularly enjoy having some smarmy bastard coming over to my table and glad-handing us. It's a fine line, and I trust the owners to know themselves well enough as to which way they do things.

I agree with a few of these but the one that strikes a chord the most in the inability to mix and match with canned beers. If I'm visiting a brewery for the first time (and possibly the only time because I'm traveling), I have a couple beers on tap and then want to take 4 or 6 others to go. If you only have 4 or 6 packs that can't be broken up, then I'm buying no "to-go" beer. The brewery is losing my business.

The other frustration is the food situation. If you don't have a kitchen, have a website that clearly lists your food truck schedule or nearby businesses for online ordering/delivery. I'd like my family to come with me to your brewery, but they're not beer drinkers so food options are critical.
