Quick question - can you get the pizzas at Tewks to go? Didn't realize they didn't start with food until noon.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    • Takeout pies are not available at this time. Our hybrid New York/New Haven style pies have a crispy crust with a pillowy top and are best when enjoyed hot and fresh out of the oven.

Realistically you could just grab a few to go boxes and just split. It wouldn’t be hard. People always leave with a bunch of leftovers. And I’ve always wondered if many were just muling some pizza home

Thx - might do a few fresh slices and bolt - I want to have time to do both Hill Farm and Alchemist, and and neither stay open very late.

You could definitely do it but depending on the day you go, people put in pizza orders like they are dying at noon and a lot try before so the wait can instantly be long. Sometimes 30-60 min. Either way you are looking at a minimum 3 hour drive to hill farmstead which wouldn’t get you up there until between 3-4. If the pour line there is short you could realistically probably make it to the alchemist after(50-60 min drive) but it will be cutting close for 6 pm close. Any traffic would make you cut one stop. You’d almost be better off getting takeout beer at treehouse at 10 am and go straight to hill farm. Then grab pizza at Parker pie. Hill Farmstead is more rural than you can imagine if you’ve never been.

I’m like the king of “actually you can totally do the day you want by cramming more of these places into a short time window than some would want to” guy here but plz don’t try to get pizza at tree house and go to HF and Alchemist after - I think it’s virtually impossible. It’s a pick 2 situation and you’re almost definitely shortchanging yourself at both stops unless one is Alchemist.

YOu guys are definitely making me think twice about the pie now - maybe i'll just get my to go and a small pour or two and leave at 11:30 for hill farm. haven't heard of parker pie.

I have been to Hill Farm before, but only during covid when you needed a reservation

If you are a big fan of HF beers, you'll want to have time to try a few things and not feel rushed. Parker Pie (about 20 min from HF in Glover) has good, but non-traditional, pizza and an even better draft list. But the pizza is nothing like the TH pizza, which I like significantly more.

Maybe hit up TH for pizza on your way back south? Deerfield is a super easy stop off of 91 and if you time it right and get there for open, you're only waiting 20 min for your pie.

I have had pizza there dozens of times and walked out with a half full box of pizza. I had no idea that ‘they don’t do take out pizza’. I mean, they have take out boxes.

Most times the family and I order two pizzas, eat one-ish and have a couple takeout boxes for the eight or so slices remaining. I think it basically means they're not packaging the pizza up for you, but I've never gotten a dirty look about asking for a couple boxes and taking it to go myself.

Do they have full size pizza boxes? I've only seen the small boxes.

Trail Riwaka is absurdly good. Best hopped Trail that I've had.

The pizza boxes are MUCH smaller than the pizzas for sure (vouching for Deerfield and Sandwich … assume same boxes at the other two locations). Family got two pies at Sandwich on Sunday … finished about 1/2 and fit the rest in two boxes with no concerns. Reheated pretty well next day, as well.

Hate to say it, but Sorbet King Creamsicle was undrinkable for me. Must be the guava, which isn’t my favorite adjunct, but it’s usually something I can still enjoy. Had an almost medicinal and plasticity taste. Glad it was only a 2-pack. Will probably give the other one to someone at work or let it sit a few weeks. Probably better off seeing if someone else will enjoy it

Did you get any Trail Citra? It’s also very good, as well as the Australian Cascade version

Didn't get either this time around, but have gotten Trail Citra before and really like it. Also really liked the Billy Goat Cascade too.
