Happy Tuesday BAs! Beautiful day outside, but a little too hot for me. A witbier sounded refreshing, unfortunately this Blanche de Chambly Pomme isn't as good as the original version. Cheers!

Crystal clear and golden body; nice carbonation density; thick head, white and frothy, very long-lasting. Subtle nose; lightly sweet malt with a touch of chili pepper in the background. The taste is light malt and more of a chili flavor than anything smokey. Medium-light body; crisp; mild alcohol dryness.

I am positive I got more of a smoke sensation with my pour at the brewery this past Sunday. For whatever reason, the crowler pour lacks any definitive smoke quality and more of a chili character. Kind of a head scratcher, to me. At first, I thought the two crowlers I ordered got mislabled (the second one being their imperial chili beer), but, no, that's not the case. Kind of wondering what happened to my 'taster' between Sunday and today.

Deep golden body, very clear; moderate carbonation; no head. Very faint sense of chili peppers and vegetal elements. The taste leans towards a malt-forward note with a light chili pepper flavor and prominent but not overbearing booziness. Fairly heavy mouthfeel; smooth and slick overall; alcohol warmth and dryness but quite tolerable for an imperial beer.

Another beer that I had on tap at the brewery two days prior and thought better of it then than I do now. I recall a better chili pepper aroma and flavor then. Granted, for an imperial chili beer, this one is doing a fair job toning down the alcohol presence, but the blatantly noticeable lack of chili pepper aroma or flavor for an imperial styled beer seems rather strange to me.

    Perfect quencher for the heat.
Malt liquor definitely needs to stay as cold as possible for best results.
