It appears that I MAY be moving to New Braunfels to be closer to our new grandbaby and our son. I want to ask, with NO foolin' and NO homerism please, what the beer scene is like in that area. Please don't answer this unless you have traveled outside SE Texas ad know other regions, especially the West. All input is GREATLY appreciated.
Well, here is a thread just a few spots down that you started about a month ago. Maybe check that out https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/help-with-new-braunfels-san-antonio-breweries.677189/
SE Texas? New Braunfels is south central Texas. Southeast Texas is wayyyyyyy different then other parts of Texas. New Braunfels is hip and touristy. Beer scene is fine. Also, Austin and San Antonio are each about 30-45min away depending on traffic. I love that NB gets distro of Ghost in the Machine and SA still doesn't for some odd reason. I'll make random scenic Hill Country drives to grab GITM at gas stations outside NB. Lots of breweries in the Hill Country outside NB to go along with all the wineries and distilleries. Washington will always be hard to compete with in terms of beer scene, but Texas isn't bad at all.
