After initially picking up what I thought was the last 6 pack in stock at the local grocery store, I was pleasantly surprised to find it restocked when buying beer today.

Honestly I was a bit tempted to buy more than 2 (they appeared to have 6 out total), but I asked myself if I really needed more than 12 10.5%ABV beers in the fridge, and thus ended up balancing it with some SNPA to give my palate a break between the big boys.

As long as Stone keeps putting out classics like Double Bastard and Ruination (fingers crossed for Old Guardian), I'm buying Stone like it's 2005 again. :sunglasses: Given what common examples of IPAs have become, I'm more than happy to return to these excellent classics.

Picked up a six-pack at HEB in San Antonio at the beginning of May and I haven't seen it since. HEB only had a few six-packs left, so I only grabbed one. I hope to see it again because I killed that six-pack over a weekend and wanted to keep some for winter.

Same boat as me, I get to enjoy a selection of Stone IPA or tangerine express at my local distro:confused:

We just got this shit, pretty frustrating it took so long to arrive. Anyway enjoying a can now in this 100 degree weather. I actually had Bigfoot 2024 for the first time about a week ago. Man did that blow me away.

I don’t see too many parallels but I love both beers. Big talking point for me, there’s a sort of gummy candy note like one gets in big west coasters, really enjoy that. I bought two 6ers, highly doubt either will get to see the fall, perhaps not even August if I’m being frank.

Cheers and if you haven’t, buy it when you see it. Oh and cos I couldn’t find it in this thread, these were $16.99 per. Don’t think one can argue with that (to further complain and add context I paid $12 for a pint of local (counterweight headway) IPA at the weekend with dinner at a burger joint - menu had no prices of course. So this feels like a steal)

Oh hell yes. I loved this beer way back when, so much so that doublebastard was my first email address. This is even better than I remember and I love that it isn't in bombers.

Been buying a few cans at a time for about 2 weeks now at Trader Joes in Yorba Linda, CA. Was able to suggest it to a guy looking for a good WCIPA today while I was shopping. He wanted a WCIPA and liked Arrogant Bastard. I told him this was Arrogant Bastard on steroids. He took 2 cans home to try.

So, BA claims this beer is made by 'Arrogant Consortia', but all over the can I'm enjoying it says Stone Brewing.

Are they the same thing? Does Arrogant Consortia still exist?

For example, the Consortia's last instagram post was from May 2023, but Stone's got photos of this Double Bastard release from less than a week ago.

Is it time to 'retire' Stone Consortia? Fold it into Stone? Do I need to sober up to figure this out?

    It's still a thing.

The all Arrogant Bastard, Double Bastard, BITR, BA Double Bastard and shit gets listed as Arrogant Consortia on the tap lists.

I can ask my boy for more info if you want

Finally found this after you magnificent beer nerds made me aware Stone was packaging this again this year. Big and brawny, this beer defines to me what Stone used to do so well - smack you in the face with a world class beer 2 x 4 and NEVER apologize for doing so.

The key for me is to let this warm a bit - it really opens up, especially the resiny pine from the hops. I need a keg of this. For real.
