Day off so made the gravelbike dirty. Put the bike in the car and started near the French border for a lovely ride. Now a well deserved beer. Cheers

 

It's hot and I'm thirsty.

Dont know why this French village had flags from Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands out. Maybe for the European Championship soccer...

 

Back from China Town. Not a lot of shopping. Tons of food and energy. Plus a Tuk Tuk race back to the hotel... Tawanadang German Brewery IPA. 5.5% ABV. Not bad. My street beer tonight

 

Key City Brewing
Mississippi Queen Blonde Pale Ale




Rich, dark gold color with small quickly vanishing white cap.

Aroma of rich, sweet malt and lihtly floral hops.

Flavor is straight up sweet malt with a light hop seasoning. This combination remains from start to finish.

Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.

Overall it's a good stab at the blonde ale style with more emphasis on malt than hops.

Hello again BAs. Boy did I have a good time with fun water this weekend. Even saved $4.20 with my senior discount at the beer store in WI. Not every place does that. And Saturday I unloaded a lot of mental baggage with a one-way ticket the hell outta my life. Sometimes ya gotta throw things into the river. <>
I'll pick up where I left off (sort of) yesterday eve and finish the 6pk that I embarrassingly paid way too much for. Could drink it to hell and back but deep down it really makes me wanna drink local a helluva lot more. Augustiner Helles. Not raining so outdoors it is. Cheers!

A Tooth & Nail Pilsner before lunch



was less than impressed by my first few sips, but as the beer warmed up I started tasting much more of its bready malt character. T&N do a great job with a number of styles I don’t find much anymore from other craft brewers in the region

 

Happy Monday BA's! Lunch is a Sausalito turkey and swiss sammy with a Fiddle Second Fiddle. The first well truck with a 5 ton winch couldn't pull our pump up (160' down) so the truck with the 10 ton should be here in a bit. I'm pretty sure the price goes up with the size of the winch.....

 

The last couple of days I've been trying some locally brewed IPA's, what the brewers are calling WCIPA's. This might be the closest to the traditional ones that I've tried so far, Sketchbooks Coastal, still staying local at 41 miles away.
