Brasserie Tandem (France) Coup de Soleil DIPA.,. Cheeeers!

This has become my Jai Alai since moving from Florida to France.,.
Water, Pilsen malt, Sabro cryo, HBC 472 cryo & Ekuanot hops, flaked oats for smoove, yeast. 7.5% ABV.

Got some groove too! Here we go!

 

1) Mortalis Brewing Strange Philosophies 105 (8.0% canned 4/17/24): A NEIPA from NY with Citra and Moteuka for flavors of tropical and juicy pineapple, papaya, melon, and sweet lime and mango.
versus
2) BlackStack Pseudoscience (8.4% no canning date): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Citra, Nectaron, and Nelson for flavors of Orange citrus, pineapple, white grape, berries, and mango. Clean. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

Winner:
2) BlackStack Pseudoscience: Happy Saturday BeerAdvocates and another great NEIPA Battle. First is Mortalis Brewing Strange Philosophies. Pineapple, grapefruit, mango and grape. Fantastic hop combination and flavors. This is some excellent east coast haze for sure.
Next is BlackStack. A collab with Toppling Goliath with New Zealand hops. Excellent tropical notes balanced by some of that New Zealand zest.
BlackStack has more robust flavors out of the gate, but as they warm the flavors of Mortalis are coming through more. A tough call. Both are at least outstanding.

Gnosis Shiftshaper - Mosaic IPA. This one is on point, but sadly this is my last can. I hope they do more in this series soon because this turned out much better than expected.

Imperial Oak Quiet Giant coconut/vanilla variant. A 14% bourbon barrel aged Imperial Stout.

Good Word Brewing Penelope 6.5%
Spelt malt, Saaz hops and dry hopped with Hallertau Blanc. Spicy, herbal and refreshing. Just the way I like them! Hope all you BAs are enjoy good beer and goo company this weekend!

 

At five months in the can this is still incredible. It's maintained a smoke and meat intensity that I've only experienced with Schlenkerla. By far the best smoked beer Jack's Abby have brewed. Really hope you all bring this one back, @JacksAbbyBrewing!

 

New Glarus Kid Kolsch (5.5%): A Kolsch-style beer from Wisconsin with flavors of grapes, grapefruit citrus, yeast, and a smooth and slightly sweet malt.

A Kolsch is supposed to be light and clean, but it is also supposed to have flavor. Sometimes the yeast flavor is difficult to get right I have noticed in many Kolsch beers.
This one from New Glarus is a bit bigger, but packs all the right yeast and the flavors come together, just right. It's still extremely drinkable and quickly becoming one of my favorite Kolsch beers.

I am working on the dates @GreenBayBA. It sounds so fun. Wanting to come.

The brewery literally saw your posts on this thread, and has personally invited you. You would walk in there like Stone Cold Steve Austin, after the glass breaks.

 

As expected, preparation/ training/ rest/ molds the best, and then there are we.
