    look: 4.5 | smell: 4.75 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

    The bottle 'popped' upon opening, indicating strong carbonation, but with no overflow. And the intriguing journey began from there. Any beer that pegs itself as an experimental beer - a blend of helles, weizen, rauchbier, and doppelbock - has promise for good or ill. The looks are fantastic and the smell immensely unique and appealing. The taste is an interesting meld of doppelbock with a vague sense of a helles lager; no real smoked beer flavor comes through. The bottle states the beer "ages gracefully up to 1 year", so this is likely past its prime. Still, an interesting beer.

    Pretty well balanced but just a little more coffee forward, I think. I liked Maple Mackinac better but this is pretty darn good. Cheers!

    Man, what a filthy day. I normally don't mind humidity but it was like 1000% Now, it's raining. I wish it would rain all night - we need it.

    I'm drinking a brand new TIPA from District 96 Beer Factory brewed with Enigma, Pacific Jade, and Citra hops. It doesn't have the snake fruit sweetness typical of D96. It's fairly tart with some peppery spice and white wine grape. Refreshing and very drinkable for 10.5%. Good stuff. Cheers!

    Cellar West/Oskar Blues Lyons & The Loon oak aged wild ale. It was wild indeed when half the bottle gushed upon opening. I'm glad I was on the porch where I could easily hose everything down including myself.:grimacing: Aside from the mess and waste it is a really good wild ale. Cheers! :beers:
