Random Pipeworks 4-year barrel aged barleywine just sitting on a back shelf. $14…ouch, but “had” to try it. Looking at reviews, it’s Heaven Hill barrels, which IMO accounts for that “vinous” quality seen in several reviews. It’s nice and cold, refreshing. The HH is very akin to the flavor imparted to a GI BCBS, so if you like that, you’ll probably like this. Lots of tannins, no doubt from the extended aging. Not quite at a “wet wood” stage, but very close. Is it $14 good? Ehhh, maybe as a treat or two.

Monsoon rain today caused massive flooding out back. At first, disappointed that the fresh drain piping was fully overwhelmed, but after a few hours, it’s actually drying it out rather well. The issue to tackle next will be to divert the flash floods to the property line instead of center property…need that S to go behind the walnut tree, not in front…

 

Earlier this evening, Mrs. Z was up for supporting our local brewery up the road (like 2 minutes away). Rising River - Moon Tower D-IPA at the source (x2...). This is the one beer they keep running out of but keep cans on hand (even though it's not on the menu, just have to know to ask ).



Above is this year's Mug Club that's housed at the brewery until the end of the year. Now / real time? Back home, watching my Dodgers play Philly and keepin' the Mug Club spirit alive enjoying some Southeast Pennslytucky lovin' with some Tired Hands - Pungee in last year's Rising River Mug Club mug. @The_Kriek_Freak

My son and I are enjoying Grimm Artisanal's Cult of Echo IIPA.

 

I was trying to respond to your previous post but that was hard.
Instant classic. The song was insane and the artist aged like fine wine.

 

We saw 2x4 for one or two years and then crickets. I liked those.
