    Good morning,
It's too bad I couldn't add this beer to the database because I really liked it, even though it was brewed by a beer firm at another brewery.

Resaka Brewing Tribe (Rome, ITA) brewed at Birrificio Sti Malti (Caserta, ITA) - HABIBI - Blanche with lemon and citron peels (5%)

33 cl bottle (€5 from the fridge of the beershop).
It is a blanche with the addition of fresh lemon peels and citrons from the Calabrian farm "Barracca" of Gioiosa Jonica, renowned for the cultivation of Calabrian citrus fruits and for its activities aimed at social rehabilitation.
It draws inspiration from a recipe already developed by this beer firm with the Belgian brewery Brouwerij de Coureur (Leuven, BEL), with which they brewed the "PIRATA LEMON", which however never arrived in Italy.
When poured, it is light golden, only slightly cloudy with a discreet foam (just the right amount) but very soft.
As soon as you uncork you can immediately perceive lemony hints which amplify once poured.
In the mouth, a beer with a very light body, accompanied by a lively but not excessive background carbonation, which conveys a sensation of freshness of the product and which makes it very thirst-quenching.
The taste is at the same time short but enveloping as the lemon dominates, with that taste of citrus peel and albedo (the white part present inside the lemon and citrus fruits in general) which is the first scent that is noticeable and quickly fades into hints of lighter citrus (cedar), with very slight space also for the hint of coriander that appears in the background.
The drink is at the same time light and thirst-quenching, not demanding, but still tasty in a balanced way, respecting the "delicacy" of the structure of the beer and not distorting its distinctive features.
Very fresh and drinkable, although not part of my favorite beer style, I consider it very suitable for summer drinking, but of quality.

Good day all… wondering if anyone here’s tried De Molen beer from the Netherlands? I went out hunting and was able to find a bottle of IPA a little past its bb date…
    [IMG]

No luck finding any imperial stouts or porters though, which seem to be their more popular beers on here. Are they worth the trouble of seeking out further?

Last one for the night: Can of Oskar Blues Ten Fiddy from the cellar. No canned on date; can lists Lyons, CO. Don't know how if all cans (now) state original location; I do know others in my cellar list a canned date (never really gave it a thought to see if they still show Lyons!) At any rate, it's held up fairly well. Bitter chocolate, coffee, and a little alcohol heat at the finish. Past its prime but still very enjoyable
    Cheers LNBAers.

Hi, De Molen has been a pillar for stout/imperial stout/barley wine beers, but also for Tripel/Saison and stuff more in the Belgian style but with a character, a body of its leading products and the nuances and spiciness in the flavors of very high level.
Unfortunately in 2019 it was acquired by the industry and became the property of the second largest industrial group in the Netherlands (that of Bavaria, second only to Heineken).
I'll tell you the truth, I prefer to keep in my mind those excellent TSARINA ESRA in 25 cl bottles with orange wax on top which inside preserved a product with a truly unique (and excellent) range of flavours and aftertastes.

May I suggest Bellwoods, Flying Monkeys, or Collective Arts, all from Southern Ontario. I’d be curious to hear the opinions (good or bad) of an outsider. That, or try some wine while in the Niagara area.

Good day BAs! Thanks @Jack_14 for starting the thread and for your usual excellent review! @StBrewnard - a couple of weeks ago in Germany, I picked up a couple of bottles of De Molen's
Bommen & Granaten (11.0% ABV), an English-style barley wine - it was decent, despite the corporate takeover.

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Final Impression and summation: 3.5 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) The can states that this is an Italian-style pilsner, but that style classification doesn’t currently exist in BA. Whatever it is, it’s a decent take on a pilsner.
Rating 3.82, rDev 0% (First review)

We have some old stout stock on a craft store shelf here. 2016 if I recall correctly, which does not seem to hold up well unless you want a flat and bland stout.

Blood Brothers has interesting beers, although leaning toward the expensive side, IMO. Buffalo gets distribution, so it might be available near the falls.

Changed hotels again. This place has no fridge. But I did find some cold beers  Need to get a normal glass still.

Besides the mentioned Tsarina Esra, I would recommend these from De Molen:

Hel & Verdoemenis (Hell & Damnation) - Russian Imperial Stout

Bommen & Granaten (Bombs & Grenades) - Barleywine

    Rasputin - Imperial Stout

All heavy dark beers. IPA's like the Vuur&Vlam you had are from recent years (and do not compare to their imperial stouts). De Molen started about 20 years ago and they became well known because of the imperial stouts. They do lots of small barrel aged series too, but these are somewhat hard to find outside the Netherlands I guess.
The place where I live is a 30 minutes drive from De Molen. Planning to go there again in a couple of weeks.
    Cheers!

...I've enjoyed numerous beers from De Molen...I don't always see it around Colorado Springs, but do pick up a bottle or two whenever I do see it...looks like 13 beers per my BA record...I especially like Hel & Verdoemenis and Tsarina Esra...

Hel & Verdoemenis definitely is one of their classics and on of my Favourite too.
I was always surprised to see De Molen in US and Canadian bottle-shops, even in the days before the takeover and production was rather small.
    Cheers!
