Personally, I like the beer, but (1) it is priced too high, (2) it should be in 375s. Reducing the price and smaller format would be more reasonable, approachable, and appropriate.

Side note, why do they have bottles of BC for up to $42. Who the hell is ordering that? No one that is there would even use that to compare price wise and say, “wow, I’m getting a good deal by paying $40 for a 375”. If you are going to price it that high, they aren’t going to sell, just take them off the list. Wtf.

I'm not a STL native, nor do I live there. I'd suggest reading these and seeing if they help you form an agenda and/or if you have other questions:

    Thread 1.
    Thread 2.

In general, all three Side Project locations are in Maplewood, which is a few miles southwest of Forest Park. 2nd Shift isn't too far away. Southside of Forest Park also has a Modern Brewery location and Mac's Local Eats (some great dry aged smash burgers.) I'm not a huge foodie though - I spend my travel money on beer, so I can't offer up many more meaningful food suggestions than that.

While it would be nice for every beer to be dirt cheap, Langst is essentially a barrel aged barleywine and is priced at or below Anabasis. Why would it be priced less?

Bottle size is a personal preference. I don't personally have any issue with larger format as it is a great way to get new members to join Team Langst.

Hey, just providing my opinion. Personally, it just isn’t worth that price. Is it dirt cheap for SP? Yes. Is it dirt cheap in comparison to the rest of the market? Not really. Nor do I think it is essentially a BW. I also don’t think Anabasis is worth $50 either - at least not more than maybe once a year. Judging by sales on both, I suspect most people don’t vehemently disagree with these statements. Judging by all the Rev love in this thread/crossover, I am sure most get their BW fix elsewhere for less. I’d rather have JOs version (of Längst), which comes in a smaller format for less, which removes my need to pay SP pricing.

Look, I’m not out here standing on the lawn screaming that SP must drop their prices. I’m just saying that beer is overpriced for what it is, and I do think the 750 format doesn’t do it any favors as a less popular style. It’s kind of like how lots of people think the more acidic sours should all be in 375s.

    Different strokes.

$15 a can still leads the pack in bang for buck!

Missed out on the library box while camping in Montana last week so I'm drinking an Oude Fermier 20 to ease the pain. It's fantastic. It doesn't have the hype that it used to but it's just a phenomenal 10/10 saison.
