Good day BAs! Back from the Y - red skies this morn, sailors be warned! Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Final Impression and summation: 3.5 (After deducting 0.25 point for an unlabeled personal container) The oats help with the palate, making it medium and creamy. Otherwise, just another hazy IPA.

    Rating 3.53, rDev -10.9%

    Good morning.

Rebel's Brewery (Roma, ITA) - GOLD TEETH - Modern West Coast IPA (6,5%)

On tap (€6 at the pub), but already drunk canned.
It's a West Coast Ipa in a modern style, in which the extreme fruitiness that invades the palate is also due to the use of Incognito (now, a well-known aromatic -liquid- extract of hops to retain very high aromatic concentrations, without any presence of vegetative matter), as well as the double dry hopping of Loral, Mosaic and Sabro hops.
The extreme fruitiness can already be perceived on the nose with aromas of citrus and more summery and tropical fruit (peach, apricot, melon, pineapple).
It's golden in colour, almost completely transparent. Very clean.
Average foam, but of little consistency.
In the mouth, a medium-bodied beer, supported by the right carbonation (lively, but not exaggerated) in which the fruity taste invades the palate leaving almost a patina of ACE juice flavor (orange lemon carrot). There are reflections of sweet tropical fruit (yellow peach, melon, pineapple, mango) that intertwine with those of ripe citrus.
The finish is dry with a slightly more bitter citrus note, but it's a "modern" bitter, precisely: which wants to leave as little trace of itself as possible, to let the fruity aftertaste remain in the mouth for a long time as the first and last hint of the drink.
As intended by the brewery, it is a modern West Coast IPA (unlike their PARROT INVASION which in fact has fewer frills and less fruit and has a bitter finish like an old-fashioned West Coast IPA), very fruity without being cloying but also with that little bit less character compared to an "old Style", in which the hops, in addition to the aroma, were much more present also in bitterness and closed the drink by "drying" the fruit and leaving on the tongue that pleasant bitter note, absent here.

    Good day all!

As I hinted in yesterdays thread we were on the coast since Sunday, now back home and I was also mentioning in a profile post this past weekend; I’m going to knee surgery (arthroscopy @beergoot, @Todd) to remove a bone fragment that is/was stuck in the knee for far too long.

Obviously this is going to be a one and done before going to the hospital tomorrow morning and a final post before hopefully a quick, effective recovery:

Also a final photo of our stay on the coast:

    Cheers!

...I trust all will go well with your surgery...as I've stated many times to many people, assuming the surgery goes as planned, the biggest asset to a quick recovery is to faithfully follow your physical therapy regimen...next thing you know, you'll be giving @eppCOS, @Beersnake and @tekstr1der a literal run for their money...

Four great beers to start the morning here / afternoon in Europe. I never had a Westervleteren, hope to one day. Hope all goes well with your surgery @Shanex and your back drinking and drawing very soon.

Starting to formulate a shopping plan for Sheboygan, haven't bought beer in a while beyond singles for NBW/NBS and tasting. Got the cellar down over 2 cases, baby steps.

Don't get this brewery's beers often even though I love because they still haven't reopened their taproom this decade.

    Thank you!

Of course I asked for opinions / advices around me, and apparently an arthroscopy after a knee fracture, as bad as it was is something you recover from relatively well and fast. Fingers crossed.

    Hop/Fully  thanks

    Thanks, doc!

I’ll do, beer will have to wait if I’m prescribed some sort of medication/painkillers.

The hospital is waiting for me at 7am tomorrow. Will snooze out in a bit. Cheers!
