Had this canned an now on draft and I have to say that it may be one of my favorite hazy IPAs of all time.


As you can tell the Mississippi is still flooded around these parts. The water was not supposed to be engulfing all these trees.

And another The Great Revivalist Cloud Trippin' because why not. In fact I had asked for a different beer (Big Grove Amber) but the server misheard and brought me this. And I'm glad he did. A hazy with an intense bitterness is a hazy I'm willing to drink.

Heyooooo BAs! Good day, morning, night...whatever's in front of you. Drums last night. Accidentally took the wrong drum case which holds the tiny tom tom. It's sooo cute....and I beat the shite out of it. Chopped the back lawn already this morning here and it's time for a Red bBeer. Cheap low sodium tomato juice, loads of sea salt, and a Miller Lite. I think in my last post I mistakenly called them "Endless High Lifes". I'd hit that as well. Ha! Cheers!

 

At the Great Revivalist Brewery in Clinton, IA. As you can see this is a brewery that is based in a former church, with much of the decor remaining unchanged. It is absolutely beautiful. Also this is the only way that you will get me to set foot in a church.

What is even more impressive is the beer. Delicious stuff. Not sure if I'm overreacting but this may be one of my favorite Midwestern breweries.

Good day BAs! Ran all over town getting things for the house…home now, on the porch, drinking “Cryo Fresh Torpedo”:



Very good, yet not my favorite of the Torpedo series. A cloudy 84° outside with an intermittent breeze; much cooler than yesterday - our heat wave has passed! Cheers and have a pleasant weather Wednesday y’all!

1) Klosterbrauerei Andechs Vollbier Hell (4.8%): A German Helles with flavors of pale malts, earthy, grassy, German malts, and smooth honey. A relatively crisp and dry finish.
versus
2) Augustiner-Bräu Lagerbier Hell (5.2%): A German Helles with flavors of earthy Munich malts and yeast. Dry and clean. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner: Andechs Vollbier Hell
German Helles Battle. First is Andechs. One of my favorite German Helles lagers. Smooth, earthy German Helles flavors.
Next is Augustiner Helles. My first try at this one. Ranked the #4 German Helles on BeerAdvocate. It has strong carbonation and yeast. Sort of rustic flavors. Very good.
Andech seems slightly more smooth and flavorful so I'm picking that one. Will have to try this Augustiner Helles more though.

An "Oldie" but a goodie.
It's been ages since I had one last, and I don't know why.
Such a satisfying brew.

Indoor chores now, changing out ancient curtains…drinking SN’s “Cold Torpedo”:



Kinda wimpy, but it is crisp and clean. Not much flavor, not very bitter. I haven’t had this beer before, it was part of today’s variety pack, and I would not seek it out…Cheers y’all!
