Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for starting today's thread - I checked over two hours ago and no one had responded yet.

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Altbier is one of my favorite styles and was my fort homebrew (several batches). This one is better!
Final Impression and summation: 4.25 Very good Murican take on a classic German style.
    Rating 4.06, rDev +5.2%

    Good morning.
44 cl can (€5/€5.50 from the pub fridge).
On the label: "Lot: L2330 - Best before: 01/2025".
It's brewed with Maris Otter (of the Thomas Fawcett&Sons brand located in Castleford, West Yorkshire since 1780) as the base malt, to which abundant barley flakes have been added as well as other (classic) dark malts such as Roasted, Chocolate and Pale Chocolate (also from the Fawcett brand) and malted oats. The yeast is also a classic of English origin, as are the hops chosen to remain faithful to the British tradition: East Kent Goldings and Fuggle.
Drink after letting it rest for 7/8 minutes out of the fridge.
Poured (in multiple times) it's black with abundant and creamy beige foam acting as a cap.
The aromas are the classic ones: roasting and toasted cereals first, then more chocolatey notes and even light notes of ash.
In the mouth, beer with a classic taste, far from modernity and its excesses at times: light body and malty, without however being silky, mild carbonation but present in the background, with that carbon nitrogen which makes the whole drink more "creamy", but at the same time slim and light.
In the mouth the predominant taste is that of roasted coffee, with aftertastes of dark chocolate and background cereals which quickly end with a "smooth" finish, with just a single hint of light bitterness which fades into a reference to ash and again to toasted cereals .
Chocolate aftertaste that remains light on the palate, while the roasting and taste of toasted cereals remains on the tongue, always in a very veiled manner and not at all intrusive or decisive, encouraging a quick subsequent sip.
Very faithful to the classic British style of reference.
I think this is precisely the best quality of this beer.

    1) Off Color Tooth and Claw (5.0%): A Czech Pilsner from Chicago with flavors of pale malts, smooth bread malts and a vinous yeast. Mildly bitter.
    versus
    2) Utepils Keller Pils (5.2%): A Czech Kellerbier from Minnesota with flavors of smooth bread malts and yeast. Moderately bitter. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

Winner: Off Color Tooth and Claw
Czech Pils Battle. First is Off Color. A great Czech Pils that is hard to beat.
Next is Utepils Keller Pils. A bit heavier likely because it's unfiltered. Similarly great flavors.
Off Color's is slightly more smooth and soft.

    From a 12oz can canned on 09/08/23

The beer is a golden pouring beer that is slightly murky looking. This is a very heavily carbonated beer. 4 finger slightly off white head. The head retention is ok, but there's no lacing on the glass.
The nose is fruity smelling with a decent mango hit, actual mango, not hops. Not much else here.
Taste - The flavor starts out tart, and the tartness lingers and builds. Mango is a sweet fruit, There's a hint of sweetness here, but minimal. There's a hint of salt that also goes well with the tartness.
Decent body. Clean, and has a dry feeling to it. Doesn't feel like 6%+, could go down way too fast.
Tasty and refreshing on this hot day.

Be back in a bit for more.
