    1) Hop Butcher Unwind Your Mind (7.5% canned 4/8/24):
A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic, El Dorado, & Moteuka for flavors of tropical orange, berries, some grape and lychee. Tropical.
    versus
    2) Hop Butcher Shrimp Night (8.0% canned 3/5/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Strata, and Simcoe for flavors of zesty lemon, tropical pineapple, and mango. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

    Winner: Hop Butcher Shrimp Night
Hop Butcher IPA Battle. First is Unwind Your Mind. Mosaid with some Moteuka for a nice lychee and lime addition, while still drinking sweet and tropical. Very enjoyable.
Next is Shrimp Night. Citra, Strata, Simcoe. Nice grapefruit and mango flavors from the Strata. Also some pineapple notes. Enjoyed these hop flavors more than expected and still drinking pretty well at 5 months somehow, in usual Hop Butcher fashion.

Good afternoon, all! Blood donation day today. They said no alcohol for 24 hours, but the Brass Tap is just a few blocks from the church that hosts the blood drives so this is technically not my fault. Chicken strips basket for lunch, plus a flight. L-R: Hop Butcher Dun Dun Dun DIPA; Guinness Draught Nitro; PIVO Highlandville Scottish Ale; TG Fire Stoker Imperial Porter. The Fire Stoker is off the charts. Roasty and a little smoky, quite sweet, with flavors of maple syrup, molasses, vanilla, and black cherry. At 16.6% you'd think it'd be boozy. Not so. The alcohol is damn near undetectable until it gets to cellar temperature, and even then it's pretty well under the radar. Try it if you can. Cheers!

Staring off with Shambolic, dry hopped spelt saison. A very pleasing beer, bubbly with a twang of oak and hops.

Veltins Grevensteiner (5.2%): A German Kellerbier with flavors of grains, bread, yeast, and light honey and caramel notes. Dry.

Continuing on the Keller Pils train. This one is authentically German. Amazing pour. Smooth mouthfeel. I wish more breweries would make more of the keller pils/zwickel style. Look how dark it pours. I'm appreciating this one.

From a 16oz can. No date on the can.

Very dark brown pouring beer. There's just faint hints of light shining through the glass, if I look hard enough. The head is a light brown color and 2 fingers. Decent head retention, but no lacing on the glass.
The aroma is a good hit of vanilla with notes of marshmallow and chocolate. I also get faint hints of coffee.
I get a lot of roasted chocolate in this beer. It is more of a dark chocolate flavor, with coffee notes to it. There's also hints of marshmallow and vanilla that round it out. There's a bitterness on the backside, while not bad, does seem a bit out of place in this beer.
Smooth and bubbly feeling beer. Decent body for the ABV.
    Tasty and interesting beer.

Not far away is Tuckaway Tavern and Butchery (with a shit ton of craft beer in the store), in Raymond NH (about 30 minutes from Portsmouth).. Everything we've had there has been fantastic and I think it's Tuesday lobster rolls are BOGO. I always get a burger and there amazing. It was on Diners, Drive-ins and Dive and the owner Bobby Marconi has been on a bunch or Guys shows....cheers!

Looks like my 3 mile walk $2 pints Tuesday walking path is getting close to being ready. The Mighty Mississippi River has receded back into its banks. Left alot of sediment, the green grass and white rocks are full of it, streets too. There's some cleanup to be done. A tiny High Life in an appropriate tiny glass. Cheers!
