Fair State Pilsner (5.1%): A German Pils from Minnesota with flavors of lemongrass, yeast, and dry flower. Bitter.
    versus
Steel Toe Split - Point (5.5%): A German Pils from Minnesota with flavors of lemon citrus, pale malts. Bitter. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner: Fair State Pils
German Pils Battle. First is Fair State. My all-time favorite Pils from The States. Floral, grassy, and bitter.
Next is Steel Toe. Another impressive German Pils. Slightly more lemon citrus and sweetness with the higher ABV, but still extremely bitter. Fair State is slightly cleaner and I think drinks slightly better.

You're either single, or that's a beer fridge in a part of your house that your significant other never sees. Cheers to you either way!!

    1) BlackStack Wedding Season (8.0% no canning date): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Citra, Cascade, & Phantasm for flavors of OJ, pineapple, and mango.
    versus
    2) BlackStack Dad Jokes (8.6% no canning date): A NEIPA from Minneosta with Citra, Mosaic, Cashmere, Falconer's Flight & Vic Secret for flavors of blood orange, passionfruit, blood orange, stonefruit, and mango skins. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner: BlackStack Wedding Season
BlackStack NEIPA Battle. First is Wedding Season. An excellent NEIPA with some standard hop flavors. Lots of orange, pineapple, mango which I often get in BlackStack IPAs. Incredible juicy and flavorful.
Next is Dad Jokes. A big larger at 8.6%. Some complex hop flavors here. The Cashmere shows itself well with some stonefruit notes, but also a lot of blood orange and passionfruit. This sort of pushes the limit at 8.6% where an IPA becomes enjoyable. Heavier, juicy, and sweet, but still flavorful. This is pretty good from BlackStack, but I prefer the ABV dialed down a touch.
I thought Dad Jokes was excellent, but Wedding Season is outstanding.

Post night shift as I move onto year 8 as an ICU nurse. Working nights is starting to wear on me, but it does come with a lot of fun experiences. Trying to bring some Texas BBQ to Oregon. Enjoying a living haüs hildy kolsch as I tend the fire![IMG]

Stone IPA (6.9% canned 6/5/2024): A West-Coast IPA with flavors of bitter grapefruit, lemon peel, and pine. Clean and bitter.

Found this one fresh and decided to pick up a six-pack, which is better than I could find it when in So Cal a couple of months ago. My little rant is that they don't make IPAs like this anymore. Most of the Stone distribution I see even on the west-coast is Deliciousness variants, which I'm sorry, but are not on the same level as this. Hard to find a WCIPA much better than this.
