What’s everyone’s favorite beer that they’ve been drinking this summer?

I've noticed that I’ve been buying a lot of Montauk Pilsner and Krombacher Pils this summer, and now I’m picking up more Schlafly pumpkin (one of my all time favs) since the retail season’s starting to turn.

I've been mainly drinking several pilsners and hefeweizens...Bitburger, Warsteiner, Pilsner Urquell, Weihenstephaner, Paulaner and Hofbrau. I mix it up with a Belgian Dubbel or Quad once in awhile. I have a couple of IPAs in the fridge as well. Not too big on IPAs but some spark my interest at times, especially in summer. Getting ready for the Oktoberfest brews which precedes stout/porter season. My favorite year-round brew is Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen which is always in the fridge.

A mid-June trip to the Monterey peninsula ushered in the summer of Alvarado Street. Mai Tai, Land & Sea, and Double Cone turned into near daily drivers for me during this past month. Now that I’m about all out it’s time to fill the void.

    First reply on BA, woooooooo

I've had some hits and total strikeouts this summer but my favorite beer since I felt comfortable drinking again has been the local legend Barrique Brewing's Juicy DDH IPA Destructive Interference. They brew maybe 4 pale ales a year and between their XPA and current NEIPA I've been very happy. Mostly they put out great lagers in German and Czech styles as well as wild ales, but this juicy IPA is what a southerner can only imagine a great North West brew tastes like. I hope more people hop on the Barriques train since their beers are not only the tastiest and most complex in town, they have the lowest prices, and staff is always happy to interact.

I frequent the taproom maybe 3 times a month and the beer is always fresh and delicious. I just hope this smaller brewery takes off since I've been enjoying their brews on premise and at home for almost a year now.

We don't ever get Bierstadt here in Georgia but had a rare drop of their beers late spring. I horded as much as I could afford to buy. My favorites this summer have been:

    Bierstadt Helles
    Weihenstephaner Helles
Brasserie de Jandrain IV Saison (I've really enjoyed discovering this one)
    Creature Comforts Classic City Lager
Good Word Brewing Canadian Shaman German Pils
Good Word Brewing Die Todd Die Czech Pilsner
Rotate Good Word Brewing At The Alter of The Sun Kolsch and Halfway Crooks Beer Farina Kolsch because they don't always have these available all the time.

I also try to go to Good Word Brewing every week to enjoy whichever cask ale they have available with the Dark Mild being an absolute must when it's on tap.

Good reflective thread @DCH! Cheers BAs!

I like hearing that. Always appreciate the breweries making German styles and Saisons well these days. Cheers!

I've seen you post about that one before. I had to check out their website because I was not familiar with it. What an interesting story. So that brewery goes back to the 1700's in Austria and they opened a facility in CA. Can't think of too many other breweries in America with that kind of heritage.

If you stretch back 'summer' to include the week before the solstice, I had some of my favorites during that week. According to my reviews, the one I've enjoyed the most was a Live Oak Grodziskie on draft at Beermongers in Portland, OR. The Pliny for President I had during that trip was pretty damn good too, as was my first Pliny the Elder from a bottle, which for some reason was noticeably different (drier, lighter-bodied?!) from any of the draft versions I've ever had, either in Philly or Cali... As far as everyday swillz, I can't say, as I've been all over the place as ever. But I did have a couple Philly Pale Ales down the shore yesterday, so that gets my vote, always and forever.

I'm on that hype train. I stopped in there in late March and discovered what they're all about. I'll hazard a guess that not only are they the best in town, but in the entire state and region too. They're on my list for another visit next spring.

So far this summer it's been 60minute IPA. Never drank much of this until now. A beer that you can have a few at a time. Great for summer grilling and chilling.
