Permon Craft Brewery (Czech Republic) ‘The Darkness’ Barrel Aged Imperial Stout,.,. Cheeeeers!

Pravčicka Brána is Europe’s largest natural bridge, a massive sandstone arch that’s been attracting visitors for as long as people have been appreciating natural wonders.

Part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, the arch towers in the České Švýcarsko National Park on the border of Germany, stretching nearly 90’ long and 50’ high. The natural bridge is the symbol for the region, whose mountainous peaks and beautiful forests have earned it the nickname Bohemian Switzerland.

The rock outcropping is made all the more wondrous by the picturesque chateau built into the rock face, dubbed the Sokolí hnízdo, or “Falcon’s Nest.” It was built in 1881 from a previous inn by the powerful Austro-Hungarian Clary-Aldringen family to house important guests. While princes or dignitaries no longer stay at the chateau, it has been preserved as a period restaurant and a museum dedicated to the history of the park. And it’s a fantastic hike,.,




The reward is a Budvar Tmavy Ležák (Dark Lager) and a sausage plate!

Good afternoon, all! Lunch at The Other Place III in Evansdale, IA: fried chicken sandwich with a Shiner Bock by default. The rest of the tap list was macro AALs and Golden Roadweiser Mango Cart. Shiner Bock isn't bad, but it really needs to be poked with a red-hot iron to enhance the maltiness and caramelize the sugars. (Science, y'know? ) This sandwich is legit, though. Cheers!

Lunch is mozzarella stuffed meatballs with some veg and bread. This Pizza Port Mongo DIPA is extremely well crafted and delicious.

Song for the folks born before 1970 or had "cool" parents......

 

It's a cloudy, of and on rainy day. Decided to organize some files in my home office. Fun times. Good excuse to enjoy my favorite Hefe and some tunes.
