    Sweating in the morning and drinking in the afternoon. I can live with that. Back from a hike "view on the 4 lakes". Havent had a Hoegaarden in ages. But it tastes good in this heat. Cheers!

    Good day BAs! Thanks @MadMadMike for starting today's thread! And @belvedere86 - nice pics!

    Today's New Breakfast Beer, one I've been avoiding because of the remembered harshness of another of their brews:

    Distinctly lives down to my expectations - obviously cocoa on the nose and taste, bourbon and barrels are metaphysical at best.

    Final Impression and summation: 3.5 No bourbon or oak on the nose or taste. Distinctly cocoa.

    This is a brand that goes many years back but was in hibernation for several decades before it was revived somewhat recently. It was the local beer of the city of Patras but it's now available throughout the country. As with most beers, it's quite enjoyable on draft where the mouth feel becomes a lot smoother than from the can.

    Are you based in Athens or elsewhere? If you can stop by the Noctua brewery you will be treated to some good local craft.

    Salo from Crete was pretty great. Got to try Salonikia too, from mainland Greece. I assume both would be available in Athens anyway.

    Can’t speak for the rest of your Athens adventures, though I’m told there’s a Parthenon somewhere. :wink: Mythos and Fix aren’t bad as fresh as they are there.

    The brewpub is not mind blowing but in my opinion the beers they make are excellent, and of better quality than most in the country. You can also find some of them in beer stores. For another local spot, try Blame The Sun, or Strange Brew. Enjoy!

    Cool! I got a place called ‘Smoking Barrels’ a block away.,. so many options, a week to try them all.,.
    Doing the tour of Delphi tomorrow, and that Parthenon thing @Shanex mentioned the day after., (wtf day is it, anyways?.,). I hope to send some cool shots for y’all.,.
