Heileman's Old Style (4.64%): An American Adjunct Lager originally from Wisconsin with flavors of pale malts, adjuncts, bread, creamed corn, milk. Smooth and soft.

One of the original lagers in the Midwest. Now brewed back in Wisconsin, but still doesn't use the original kräusening method. It's soft, malty, and doughy. It drinks great in any tavern, dive bar, or pretty much anywhere. A simple, but special beer.

Occasional feeder bands passing through but mainly just a cloudy day here in east central Fl. Good time for one of these. Cheers!

All the great music makes my excursions slower, but more enjoyable.

Full review linked above, New Beer Weekend #211 linked here. This is an intense experience, and would like to see more doubles packaged in 12 oz cans like this one. Enjoying this and glad to have three more courtesy of Dave!

Going to go with Michel Petrucciani introduced earlier this week by @champ103 .

Thanks @ChicagoJ ! As we discussed, replacing the smoking microwave was a no-brainer…the 27 year old fridge dying this week was inevitable; actually, I’m glad I was here so I could deal with it - Cheers!

So, today in my neighborhood is whats called White Linen Night. It happens every first Saturday of August. This is a huge event, literally 10's of thousands of people from around Houston show up for this little stretch of shops and restaurants. The streets are closed off, and it is a big block party with art dealers, bands, and lots of other things. I'm basically trapped in come about 2pm. So, the only thing to do is just have fun with it. My pupper, Moe, and I walk the entire 2 blocks up the road, only to be turned away. It is a paid/ticketed event now...what the hell? I walk this up here every day with Moe, and I literally can't now ha. This has been going on for well over 15 years, and it has never been a paid/ticketed event. Oh well.

OK, back to beer and music in air conditioning then

I haven't seen Jolly Pumpkin around in forever. Picked up some Oro De Calabaza, love this one.

Continuing on with the French Jazz vocals..Cecile McLorin Salvant's amazing album Melusine. I also love the cover photo ha.
