Opened my last regular Sucre (the base Bourbon BA).

I enjoyed it a lot, but it's fallen off for sure.

Past 10 years now and totally mellow as expected. I wouldn't call it oxidized exactly, but there was a hint of staleness. Nothing off, but the flavor just fell a little flat compared to how it and other variants/vintages are.

Unrelated: Untappd shows a quad barrel One & Dunn. Why did I think the quad barrel this year was BT? Are they doing both? Did I just assume it would be BT?

    I believe/assume they’re doing both

The Hoarders page on their site says there will be access to: "The first-ever release of not Reserve (double), not Grand Reserve (triple), but quadruple barrel-aged Black Tuesday."

Tracking tells me it was delivered this afternoon here in West Bloomfield - I had it shipped to my office so I’ll verify when back in tomorrow. I haven’t tried moving any of the rest of my cellared items since March but will get those going if this all worked out!

The items all arrived and all is good with that order. However, when contacting the Bruery to ask about clearing out my cellar and ordering new items, I was told they are still working out a shipping partner but do not have any updates or estimates of when that might occur. For now they’ve simply been catching up on some old orders.

I’m not quite sure how to square that with the fact that they just shipped this one, but perhaps their abilities are limited to some degree.

Glad to hear everything arrived, but same response since March, doesn’t sound good going forward

I recently asked again about NC shipping status a bit more pointedly, and mentioning that I would like to cancel and receive a prorated refund of bottles they can't ship me. I was told that there is no estimate on shipping to NC, but that my cellar would be good until March 2025, and that they "certainly expect to have shipping resolved by then." Otherwise my only option is to ship to another state. So I opted out of 2025 membership, and plan on fighting them for money back at the start of next year, cause I should not have to ship to another state.

I am very pleased with how Chaucer's Chalice is aging. I liked it when it came out, but it's way better now. Just more rounded and balanced. A lot of the interesting flavor originally was more soft and delicate, but I think it was being muted by the hot booziness. The floral honey vibe is pretty bold now and very tasty.

Very very glad that to hear that they haven't given up on NC shipping. I'll opt-out of 2025 as well if shipping isn't fixed by then. My dad usually flies to see me, so shipping to NY via him isn't something I'll be able to again. I do live in south CLT, so I wonder if I can set up an arrangement with a UPS store in South Carolina (15-20 minute drive from me) to receive shipping of whatever's left in my cellar in early 2025 for a reasonable fee.

Finally got my order (via shipping to NY at my Dad's) a few weeks ago. It had at least a combined 20 of the large bottles and some cans. Split one of the heavy stouts with my wife, can't remember the name, but it had strawberries and was excellent. Remembered why I subscribed in the first place. Wish I could remember the name of the beer, but by share with my wife, I mean she had 6-8oz and I had the rest (and maybe a Rochefort 10 after) and my memory is a bit hazy.

Edit: I think the beer was All the Strawberry Cows
Edit2: Never mind, it was Furst.

They just put it on draft. One & Dunn Imperial Grand Reserve. It's really good! I wish I could have the Reserve side-by-side to appreciate the extra barrel. I would highly recommend trying it!

Still have 2 One & Grand Reserve, looking forward to a side by side with Imperial Grand Reserve. Wish I had a One & Dunn and One & Dunn reserve. a 4 way tasting would be fun.

Glad to hear One & Dunn Imperial Grand Reserve is good. This series has been amongst their top beers in recent years. IMO

I wonder if it has anything to do with using it as a shipping hub…

I thought a Hoarder put up some $$ to get them to do it

This is what I recall from the press release.

I don't think it helps with distribution...I assume the problem there isn't where the beer comes from but rather if certain states will allow it in.

Wow, Rhymes with Orange was just one of the most disappointing beers I e had from the Bruery in a long time, first off a non ba society beer, and something was off putting about it, totally was looking forward to trying this as a barrel aged beer when this was annoumced

Tried One & Dunn and Orange you glad… at the TR yesterday. Both were fantastic— bummed to see One & is sold out. Waited too long. And a shame about whatever production issues limited the other one to just an included.

Picked up rhymes with orange and will try it sometime later. I also have hopes for it and I’m hoping my experience is better than Jon’s!

Tasting room visit yesterday was a second stop or I would also have tried the parlor box flight. I did get a sip of the cherry one that my son ordered and was impressed with the cherry flavor. Small sample, but I’m looking forward to the rest.
