Greetings, BAs. Enjoying a MoZee IPA from TG, with Nelson Sauvin & Mosaic. Listening to the Packers preseason game is doing little to scratch my football itch. Time for some tunes.

If we had another day of rain, there would have been problems everywhere here I believe. Glad your missus avoided catastrophe as well! Thanks, Dave!

Having a Dr. Jay from Round Table Brewery while waiting for the pizza to arrive. Bitter with lots of caramel malt. It reminds me of Double Two Hearted.

Well this was a bit of a bust. Not bad, just average. Thought it might be the born on date but BB date was in 2025. Oh well. Time to grill the chicken.

Sun is coming in at better angle now, the bugs that signal football season is coming are doing their thing, and Tired Hands DDH Refreshing has been poured. Shouldn't they have named this Sauron's Eye?? Almost forgot, happy birthday to @MadMadMike!!

    ...a winner from @TCgenny today...

Tree House Brewing Co. -- Julius

    Revisited August 10th, 2024

Opaque orange pour and sitting in the glass; sudsy, white head, about 1 1/2 fingers thick, somewhat sticky around the edges, lasting. Fantastic orange and tropical fruit aroma when the can tab was pulled; orange peel pith. The taste follows along with the look and smell attributes; elements of oats and biscuit; strong overall bitterness yet balanced with the malt and grain bill. Heavy body; dense and velvety on the palate; some alcohol bite; acidic.

This is still a super fine beer and a pleasure to find delivered to your doorstep. The looks seem a bit weaker from two years ago while the smell is a bit stronger. It was shipped to me in an insulated box with freezer packs, so I can safely assume the beer remained cool from when Tom purchased it, packed it, and shipped it to me. Despite being a hazy beer curmudgeon, this is certainly one that I have no problems with enjoying.

    Original ratings and scores: 4.75 4.25 4.5 4.75 4.5; BA weighted overall score: 4.48; rDev: -3.7%
Source: I believe a beer it forward (BIF) exchange

Hazy body, orange and peach toned; huge head, rocky and white; sticky globs of foam cling to the glass. Outstanding citrus smell; orange and tangerine; oats and other cereal grains. Complex and varied flavors; toasted grain; oats; bread crust; citrus pith; bold bitterness with a touch of phenol expression; moderate alcohol note. Heavy body; velvety; alcohol warmth and dryness

I've been curious about this popular and highly rated beer, and I'm glad my curiosity has been satisfied. It certainly earns its reputation for greatness. It exudes eye appeal, an alluring nose; balanced flavors with fine depth, and gently caresses the palate with a soft, warm dryness. A must-try beer.

Pouring temperature: 49 °F; canning data: JULIUS FOR DAYS 03/22/22

...so Tom DM'd me a while back, talking about this sticker he had for me...he kept insisting it's all in good clean fun, but I had no idea what it would be...perhaps something a bit risqué...???...something related to an infamous shower beer picture from the past...no, he had it in his noodle that I like birds and photography...on top of that, he included numerous Tree House, Mortalis, and a Wormtown beer...this was totally unexpected from the start, as I originally thought it would be this mystery sticker...then he mentioned something about shoppping for beers in New York, so that developed, but I still had no idea that he would, out of the blue, send me eight quality beers (totally unasked for by me)...and then there were additional reading and musical enhancements...what a guy...!!!...

...and, yes, I like tits...we usually see bushtits around here...they love suet, nuts, and hulled sunflower...this is a shot of them at This Place Is For The Birds, a birding and backyard decorations place I worked for a few years before fully retiring...

Postimage was giving me issues yesterday. Make sure your photo loads before you copy link. And it takes one or two adds to get it to take on the BA webpage. I'll add close browser see if it took and if not load again..
