Vaulted Blue IPA by Burlington Beer Company. 5.7% and very tasty!

Good morning BAs! Thanks @Todd for rolling out the Welcome mat for today’s Bar. An hour and 1/2 walk up and down the hills that is my neighborhood (57°at 7am) in the books. Finished my yoga routine, now it’s coffee time. FBS:



Bottled 2/21/24. Poured at 53°. At nearly 6 months, more bitter roasty than chocolate. It’s all good, sitting in the morning sun, drinking my “coffee”. Cheers y’all and have a wonderful Wednesday!

Canned November 1st 2023, this is what l like aboot Imperial Stouts. They, and other stronger beers(for the most part) can handle some aging rather gracefully.
Hell, I might just have another Yeti.

Happy Wednesday ba. Up and at it here as always. Finishing off my first sa fall pack today. Flannel fest, munich-style dunkel- I really like this one. Nice and crisp with nice flavor notes of toasted malt, and caramel,

 

I changed my mind aboot having another Yeti.

I bought another 6pack of Pilsner Urquell. This batch is best by February 13th 2025, so a May bottling. The last 6pack before this one was best by January 2025. It is nice to see that turnover is alive and healthy for Pilsner Urquell!

my little hop yard is booming - gonna have to do a wet hop IPA soon!

 

Made it to my fourth place yesterday, Brass something, but it was very small and all the seats were taken so called it a night. Back starting today like yesterday at Founders, one of the few breweries open early in Grand Rapids this early in the week.

Founders Simcoe Promise



Will add the review when I return home, as this beer is not in the system. Songs are brutal here, may only last a beer.

• Appearance: Clear golden pour, minimal carbonation bright white head 3.75
• Aroma: faint aroma dank pine citrus. What I can get is nice. 3.5
• Taste: flavor stronger, grapefruit citrus pine lightly dank. 3.25
• MF: light and easy drinking. Gentle carbonation, chalky, bitter, light alcohol. 3.25
• Overall ok, but nowhere near the quality of mosaic promise, and I like this hop. Bring back Mosaic Promise. 3.25

Looks like you guys had another great pizza gathering @Whyteboar .The town I couldn’t recall the correct name for yesterday is Alba.

Stop f’ing around Founders and bring back my Mosaic Promise 15 packs.

At the Newark airport after a couple of days in northern New Jersey, this is HopFish IPA, an English IPA from Flying Fish Brewing Company. It is a little citrusy, a little malty, and a little ….. understated. Nice beer before catching a flight, but that’s about it, IMHO.

 

Slim Pickens open in downtown Grand Rapid, hope this place works out.



I don’t believe I’ve had a beer by Shorts, so one now and perhaps a second.

Shorts Locals Amber



Bar Notes: 16 oz draft served in a shaker pint, Amber-American | 4.6% ABV |9 IBU | Shorts Brewing | Bellaire, MI| Local's Amber is an American Amber Lager with subtle-floral-hop notes and a crisp finish. It boasts aromas and flavors of biscuit and caramel with a light body and clean finish12.

Appearance: Amber bronze base, minimal carbonation, tan amber head with a thin cover. 3.5

Aroma: Barely there caramel after a few attempts. 2.75

Taste: Stronger flavor, caramel malt predominant, nice hops presence yielding honey and faint pine. Nice. 3.75

Mouthfeel: Faint fizzy carbonation, drinks light and easy, leans sweet, caramel sweet finish. 3.5

Overall: Consistent with style, decent pour, would order if in the mood for an amber ale down the road. 3.5

Passed the test, so stronger IPA up after I finish.

Right along here ba. Easily my least favorite beer of the pack and possibly one of my least favorite styles. Jack-o pumpkin ale. This year it’s a wheat ale w/ pumpkin. Drinks on the sweeter side with heavy notes of cinnamon, nutmeg. Oh well, still a good pack overall. Will likely grab another,

 

Does New Holland still have a location in Grand Rapids?
