Evening beer time

Welcome! The reviews for this beer look to be all over the place, which they are for pretty much all beers on here. I've never rated Elephant Beer, but I've submitted quite a few off-the-reservation ratings (e.g. DKML, Ghost Face Killah). Bottom line: taste is subjective. Drink what you like, and like what you drink.

Nice to have you here, BEER_MASTER_78. I think the pale lager styles, whether it be a Euro Strong Lager or an American Adjunct Lager are divisive as far as their approval by the consumer. These beers generally have such a light flavor character that any little unexpected taste caused by anything from the beer's age or improper storage to an aftertaste in your mouth from food that you just consumed can cause displeasure, and the beer gets rated accordingly. But whatever you think about the beer is what counts.

 

I 100% agree with you about Carlsberg Elephant. And welcome to the world of BeerAdvocate-ing! This is a good example of why ratings should be taken with a grain of sand and a review can be more valuable. (My review of this beer is in the hopper waiting for posting. And if I remember a link will appear here once the deed is done.)
