Xul is awesome! I was in their club for a few years.
I feel like they have some sort of relationship with sp, but it doesn’t surprise me that’s where a tap takeover is. Xul is on its way up

Everyone acting like this is anything other than goof trip shit, let alone that Xul is a remotely legit brewery, is this thread's official jumping of the shark.

 

You should take yourself a little less seriously, bud. It’s literally beer, a beverage we and many others drink for the enjoyment and experience it provides. It’s not like it’s your stock portfolio or retirement fund.

My comment was a reference to an inside joke in the Knoxville area beer community, so again, don’t take everything you read on the internet so seriously.

While I wouldn’t necessarily put Xül in the TG/SP/HF tier of breweries, I would certainly put the best of what they do across pretty much any style up against Weldwerks, Other Half, Angry Chair, etc. without question. And, they are only in their third/fourth year of brewing professionally with plenty of room to grow.

But yes, Cory’s going there and bringing thousands of dollars of product for a tap takeover as a goof.

 

Xul is pretty darn good imo

 

XUL is a damn good brewery. Lagers, IPAs, kettle sours are all really good.

Their BA stouts are fantastic.

 

If my proxy didn’t move I’d have probably stayed in the club, all the beers the first 2 years were great! Wish I could have stayed longer, this year sounds amazing

Everything I've had by Xul has been extremely gimmicky, but I also gave them a fair shake. Fun "beers" are fun and don't get 0/10s from me. Nothing about anything I said suggested otherwise.

Again, pretending like SP doing a whole ass tap takeover at Xul makes a lick of sense when they essentially never do this, at all, anywhere else, is beyond strange. Not being realistic about that simple notion, and even doubling and tripling down on it, has cemented the jumping of the shark.

 

SP has literally done tap takeovers at SARA, Green Cheek, Other Half, and Angry Chair and those are within the past year-ish. I feel like there’s probably random beer bars that could be thrown in here too.

But go on.

 

I don't know, three "guest taps" out of somewhere pushing 30 options is not a tap takeover, but that's just me.

 

By that logic nine taps out of 30 (or whatever it is) isn’t either

 

You’re implying that Cory can’t make new friends or Side Project shouldn’t try to keep building their brand.

You know what…you’re right. Maybe they should have asked an authority like you, brilliant @Sabtos, before deciding what to do with their resources.

 

These are just weird responses, man...where in the world am I implying any of that, and what does "friends" have anything to do with this?

Unless SP wants to start distributing and catering to the AAL market, their brand already being one of the most sought after in craft worldwide doesn't really need much more building, especially with the likes of those who frequent Xul.

Looking forward to the next off the wall response though, really keeping me on my toes.
