I'm a Sourdough Nibblers or entertaining cracker kind of guy with beer. I actually don't like the feeling of having a beer with a full meal with the rare exception for a hot mett or other sausage.

I go with pretzels for the practical reason of being a great, fairly neutral, palate cleanser. But even more so when a really good, traditional, pretzel is involved I pounce on that.

Gotta admit, I was tempted by the "another beer" choice.

I went with pretzels, but I'm specifically referring to the big ass freshly baked Bavarian kind, not the crunchy little ones in a bag. Ideally with obadzda, but that isn't exactly something I encounter very often.

If we're going with snacks I can get regularly, I prefer fries or tater tots. Especially if they're smothered in some combo of chile, chili, and/or cheese.

Everything 'cept cookies. I went with popcorn since I'm addicted to the stuff. I buy 12 lb. bags of seed to toss in the microwave popper, then dump a ton of white cheddar powder on top. You'd be surprised how many times that and beer are my dinner for the day!:grin:

I don’t really eat snacks when I have beer. Especially at home. I like a meal with beer no so much snacks. I did recently go to a nice hotel bar that had really good corn nuts or at least I thought they were corn nuts but they were puffy and not so hard. I could eat those all day with a beer.

    What no "other" choice?
I preffer cheese and crackers, but voted chips because sometimes I have chips and salsa or chips an guac.

I’m not a big snacker with beer guy so I choose another beer, but how can this poll be conducted without the inclusion of the pub mix?!?! Pretzels AND nuts, plus all that other good weird shit you never get in any other snack foods like those salty brownish black disk things and the dry mini breadsticks. So good!

I like to have some Sausage and Cheese. Teriyaki Beef Jerky with American Lagers, Sausage and Cheese with Ambers or Dark beers.
Kabanos is my favorite beer sausage. Swiss and Brick cheese for for the cheese. Brick goes better with Bock beer.
If the Kabanos is fresh, I like to keep wrapped in just the butchers paper in the fridge. Then, over a few days it`ll will dry out. I like it dry, with a little "snap" when you bite off a piece.
    '
Kabanos (/kəˈbænəs/; plural: kabanosy), also known as cabanossi or kabana, is a long, thin, dry sausage usually made of pork which originated in Poland. They are smoky in flavor, and can be soft or very dry in texture depending on freshness. Typically, they are quite long, 60 cm (24 in), but very thin, with a diameter around 1 cm (0.39 in), and folded in two, giving them a characteristic appearance. Versions made of chicken and turkey are staples in kosher meat markets and delicatessens.

    Pretzels>Nuts>Chips>Cookies>Popcorn

I've grown to like popcorn less and less over the years. I hate that the kernels get stuck on your teeth. Also not a fan of sweet snacks with beer unless of course the beer is sweet too and it's a direct pairing (i.e. Peanut butter cups with peanut butter porter). Chips are OK but nuts and pretzels have more salt and that's what I'm looking for in a beer snack

If I'm having sharp bitter West Coast IPAs my go to is pungent blue cheese. A gorgonzola or rocqefort. Goes together so well.

Otherwise its big pretzels (German style not the hard crunhcy little things) or Chex Mix

OH and if I'm having an Imperial Stout I go for chocolate chip cookies.

I liked your post. I couldn't figure out how to like your post 100 times. One of the Polish delis by me had some on sale for $2.99 a couple weeks ago and I stocked up.

Whatever kind of charcuterie the beer or mood calls for. Might as well slice up some cheese too.
