I don't know which place started this first, but it really is a smart way to drastically hike your price without people complaining as much as they would if you just raised your prices
Speedway Stout has a special place in my heart. I really enjoyed the mikkeller collab that just dropped: BA Speedway Vanilla Shake. it’s a delicious nod to two old-school stout standards.
Have seen a couple drops hitting the area this week for those interested. Beachwood Brewing - Amalgamator, Citraholic & Patio Project I've seen. Forest & Main - a few including a lager collaboration with Human Robot. Ready for an Amalgamator fix.
I saw it there on their social media initially, yes. I picked up a couple cans (Human Robot collab and the House Lager) at BotW AH. Not sure if Binny's is getting anything on the F&M drop but would love to hear if otherwise.
Amalgamator is so damn good when dialed in. Would love to find a few other regular options similar in style/taste.
The Beer and Now in Lisle had all of the Beachwood and Forest & Main drops. Picked up a bunch of Amalgamator and Patio Project, plus some of the Forest & Main.
Was pleasantly surprised to see Theakston Old Peculier in 4x14.9oz cans at a local Binny's. Looks like it's at a few Binny's stores based on their online inventory (ymmv). Priced @ 14.99 which seems kinda on the high side based on reading what others across the country have been finding in this BA thread. Still cool to see it on shelves after all this time.
Saw this beer coming into the area and it piqued my interest so hopefully others might be interested as well. 35th Anniversary Ale from Boulevard Brewing Co. Getting favorable reviews on BA too. Binny's (not in stock anywhere yet it seems) has it listed at 14.99 a 4pk of 12 oz bottles which seems like a deal to me. I'm on the lookout anyway. This beer combines the rich, malty depth of an Imperial Brown Ale with the intense, fruity complexity of a Barleywine, all aged in Soft Red Wheat Bourbon barrels and Ben Holladay Bottled in Bond barrels from our friends at Holladay Distillery.
Double barrel Rare Scoop from Cycle on tap at Bottle Theory in Elmhurst. 8 years ago this wouldn't have lasted on tap more than an hour let alone an entire week.
thanks for the heads up on this as I stopped in today for a pour. It had the strawberry flavor I remember from Double Rainbow but with much more barrel presence. Pretty enjoyable. The hazy DIPA from Montreal was good as well
