Widely distributed Oktoberfest collaboration brews

    Golden Road did one with Spaten, I remember seeing, but didn’t pick any up.

    Oktoberfest is kind of locked in as a style, so maybe because there’s not much room to experiment, brewers choose something else to collaborate on? It seems like the Oktoberfest purists don’t care much for Sierra’s collaborations, especially when they get a little too heavy handed with the hops.

    How long ago was this? I know Spaten collabed with Goose Island a few years ago (which I missed out on) and wonder if it was a similar collaboration.

    Is Golden Road an AB-InBev brewery like Goose Island and Spaten.*

    *Just checked, I see it is.

    Every year I picture these German brewers having to physically hold back the Sierra Nevada team from turning the batch into a Festbier IPA.

    I’m pretty sure it was the last year or two. I don’t care for Golden Road’s beers so I didn’t buy any, but it seems like it sat on the shelf forever.
