I think NW Peaks' location is where Machine House moved to. I could be wrong.

There used to be two Ram properties in Spokane. There was a Ram Brewery north of Riverfront Park, which was closed because it was a huge space that a lot of tourists didn't notice. Then there was C.I. Shenanigans, a more upscale restaurant along the river next to a big hotel. After the Spokane Ram Brewery closed, the brewing equipment was moved there and was put to use (I used to buy $5 growler fills there), but, eventually, the city bought it and tore it down when they decided to expand the Convention Center.

You're correct. Machine House is actually the third different brewery at that location. Spinnaker Bay Brewing was the original brewery there.

How many of these closed locations are still occupied by a different brewery? I'm sure several.

I know Orlison was purchased by No-Li for use as a production space with a canning line. The canning line part really screwed over some friends of mine that had the canning contract with No-Li.

Btw, I didn't realize Pyramid was gone completely. I had more or less given up on them years ago, so I apparently didn't notice their official final demise.

I had trouble believing that too, but when I found the Pyramid website (now FIFCO USA) the banner says " We're sorry, that brand has been discontinued. Please try one of our other brands." which include Labatts Blue, Magic Hat, Genesee, and Imperial. This sounds so much like Anchor Brewing, for instance.

Visiting family in the middle 80s, I tried Pyramid Pale Ale (when they were in Kalama). I thought it was very good. Other memorable early NW brews were a draft Widmer Pale Bock, a Bridgeport cask Stout, bottled Grant's Scottish Ale. I'd be happy if I had access to just those beers today.

@woemad's experience is identical to my own. It seemed like the apricot wheat was always available at the grocery store. I'm shocked to hear that the brand is history.

@moodenba. I visited the Kalama outpost in the early 90s. I still rember arguing with the GF whether we should get the espresso stout or the apricot wheat to go (in a crowler format). We ultimately opted for the stout, but the apricot wheat was the best fruited wheat I'd ever tasted at the time. A couple months later the beer took gold at the GABF, which didn't surprise me in the least.

That was a very different time, but it's hard to believe that the Pryamid brand is now no more. Far cry from the days when they had huge brewery/restaurant operations in Seattle, Berkeley and Sacto.

I don't know how they made such a great fruity wheat beer-- the apricot was just right, not artificial or like the familiar canned nectar. Who would not guard that recipe and make sure it was a money-maker whatever happened to the original brewery?

That was exactly our take back then. The fruit flavor seemed very fresh and natural, with no artifical, medicinal component. At the time, that was very, very unusual.

More breweries apparently closed unless anyone knows otherwise--

    - St. Brigid’s Brewery, Moses Lake, Washington
    - Deep Space Brewing, Hillsboro, Oregon
    - Nisqually Valley Brewing, Yelm, Washington

September 16 is the 30th anniversary, how long after that? I dunno.
